Thanks Cleo. I was having so much fun reading all of the other ladies posts on this thread that I just couldn't wait to join the crowd. It was killing me not to get to tell him. I had a sonogram done yesterday and the doctor said all looked good so my husband & I thought it was finally ok to let my son in on the big news. A while back I passed my son's room and overheard him praying for a baby brother or sister. Last night I told my son I went to the doctor because my tummy was getting a little bigger and I'd been feeling a little different lately. I asked him if he'd been praying for anything lately and he admitted he'd been praying for a brother or a sister to play with. I told him it looked like God had decided that he would be a good big brother because there was a baby in my tummy. My son is sooooo excited. He says he will read to the baby every day, teach the baby math, play with the baby, sing to the baby and even change dirty diapers. Now - I'm not getting my hopes up too much about all the help that was volunteered last night because I haven't even managed to get my 7 yr old son to keep his room clean yet. However, spilling the beans last night was a lot of fun. My son has shared the news of "his baby" with everyone he's spoken with since we told him. It's going to be hard to wait until May 30 to get to meet the new little one
Awww how sweet! Sounds like he will be a great big brother. I am thrilled for you.... my middle child's bday is May 29th! He has a wonderful personality, very giving and caring, so it is great time to have a baby.
Oh wow! Congratulations Melynda!! My little doodlebug was 2 months old yesterday! It's going by SO fast. She took her shots like a little trouper though. She had to get 3.
Sorry so late posting, still playing catchup but CONGRATS MELYNDA, so happy for you and and your family
Thanks Everyone for all the well wishes!! Babies change & grow so fast. I can't wait. It's going to be sooo much fun. However, I'm a little worried that I might be a nervous wreck when shot time comes. I do make sure my 7yr old son is up to date on most of his vaccinations - but after the Rotashield vaccine put him in the hospital when he was 3 months old - I became a real worry wart at shot time. Hopefully new my little one will take it like a trooper - otherwise I might be crying right along with the baby I'm glad all went well for you & your little one !!
Speaking of moms-to-be, just gotta congrat Jenn again. DIL ran into her this past week and totally agreed with me about how great she looks, very few moms-to-be can brag about looking slimmer (except in the belly) while pregnant. Way to go Jenn
Jenn - you'll have to let me in on your secrets. I'm getting a little worried about weight gain already and I'm barely getting started. I've already gained about 4lbs & only a couple of my jeans still fit. When I was pregnant with my son, you couldn't really even tell I was pregnant until I was about 5 months along - but I was amazed at how huge I got by the time he was born. I looked like a blown up weeble wobble. I blamed part of the weight gain on the McDonalds Steak & Cheese bagel meals I ate on the way to work each morning. The rest I blamed on a lack of exercise. However - I'm sure I had to be doing a lot of things wrong to explain the 60+ pounds I gained last time. I definately don't won't a repeat of the huge weight gain this time. Heck, I still had 30 pounds that I never lost after he was born (7 years ago). I'm not worried about losing any weight right now - but I don't want to gain too much either. I've been saying every day that I was going to start walking again and I know I need to get off my quickly growing butt and get busy. I think today will be the day. I'm not eating any more than I had been before I found out I was pregnant - but I'm afraid what I'm drinking is adding lots of calories. I used to drink a ton of Diet Coke daily (I sure do miss my Diet Coke  ). Now I'm drinking lots of 2% milk, juice & some water. I'm sure the milk & juice calories are adding up already. I hope I can manage to handle my weight as well as you have. Congratulations Jen!!!
I have no clue. It just seems that this little one has sucked the fat from everywhere else in my body and centered it in my stomach. I don't see the glowing radiance that Kaci is speaking about, but apparently everyone else does, because people say it all the time! I gained 62 pounds with Mini Me and was determined I was not gonna gain that kind of weight again. So far I'm at 15 pounds.......with 6 weeks to go....
Wow - My Hero!!! At this rate - your prepregnancy clothes are going to be too big for you in about 6 weeks.
Pardon me ladies if I intrude on this thread, but I just thought that a man's perspective might help (for a change, right ). I have never seen anything more beautiful in my life than the woman who was pregnant with my child (twice) and I assure you she was NOT thin. (Well, the little bugger may have been a little more beautiful, but you get my point.) Snuff P.S. And that's my EX I'm talking about!
