I like the way this format looks, and I prefer the i.d. info being above the text (sorry Ken). I found myself reading a lot of posts without paying attention to who wrote them in the old format. I think that's less likely in this one. Snuff ...and it accepted my Av pic
ignore list I love the Ignore list. no longer have to read all that dribble and the spell check option uses ieSpell, it is a great option for spell checking form fields, I recommend it to all my users
That is sweet! I've just added three people to the ignore list. Should make for a more enjoyable forum.
vBulletin is a pretty robust platform. What you see here is straight up, out of the box vBulletin. I work for 2 technology companies that do nothing but run forums and vBulletin is the only forum software we use. It's not cheap but it is the best thing going. Lots of neat stuff you can do with VB.. integrated photo galleries, online flash based arcade, give each user their own blog, streaming video/audio.. the list is pretty much endless. Like anything else, it depends on how far the webmaster wants to go with it. It's secure tho so that's a huge plus.
my beef? i don't see where we can kill the language filter. it's annoying not to be able to read the words p***, cl***, ***istant, etc etc etc otherwise it's like many other message boards i've used. i think savvy folks will adjust no problem - some of our population may have a harder time. good work webbie ps. a.s.s
and don't forget tassy.. can't even type my name! I did PM webbie to see if there was anything he could do to exclude certain words from the filter.
Note: While out of town yesterday I checked e-mail and had received a report of a posting making a creative use of this 3 letter word. As I was in a hurry, the quickest route was to just insert a censor for that particular word...mainly to take care of the current offensive posting AND any other ones that might occur before we were able to address it again. The censor system setting has been updated so that it it doesn't wholesale block those 3 letters and allows words to be posted that contain those letters.
