What a bunch of idiots! News flash - if the road is glare ice and your car stops moving, you don't start moving again. You wait for the sand truck. Duh!

 

I don't ever want to hear people talk about how they can drive on ice. No one can drive on sheets of ice!

Love snow (that we get here), love the ice too. The "experts" really make hind ends of themselves here when it ices.

Agreed, 110%. When I lived in the frozen north, I would never hesitate to drive in snow, but ice is something else - you can't drive on it, you can only slide on it, and hope you are sliding in the direction you want to go. But here, it snows so seldom, whatever I wanted to do can wait 'til it clears up. Let's put on the hot chocolate! Who's got the marshmallow fluff?

 

I have the marshmallows. Big and small. They say there might be ice tomorrow morning. Has anyone else heard that?

 

I heard that earlier, but now WRAL is saying the frozen stuff will be north and west of the triangle. I'm staying home anyway, with my hot chocolate. Marshmallows are good, but there's nothing like a cup of steaming hot chocolate with a big old dollop of marshmallow fluff melting into it. I like the big marshmallows on a stick with a campfire, but ya hafta get the kind in a jar for the hot chocolate. Try it, you'll like it!

 

But kdsgrandma, who believes what the weathermen say? i am hoping for about 6" so i can sleep in:lol:

As for watching WRAL for weather......go back and count how many times this past year Greg had to do the weather from the fountain because he was wrong.

As for fluff, it has to be a Northern aquired taste. I should know the wife had to have some last time we went up to visit her family for her fluff-r-nutter sandwiches. And let this southern boy tell you the stuff is crap.

Big marshmellows are for campfires, little ones are for topping hot chocolate and sweet potato casserole. Fluff should only be used as a form of foam insulation around windows and doors.

Ah but it is so good when making fudge, etc. We used it in our hot cocoa growing up in VA too so not too Northern. It melts so much better in the hot cocoa and makes it creamy.

BTW, just hear on the radio a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all of the WRAL listening area from 6am till 12pm tomorrow:-D
