New to the area, and have a young one in K @ Cleveland. How do they handle school closing announcements in Johnston County?

I've checked some TV websites, but have only seen that 2 private schools are closed.

watch WRAL early in the morning. they will have school closing and delays. or either on their website. probably wont see any closings around here until the last minute though especially if nothing is happening until early morning.

When i lived in VA and worked for a governmental agency, they actually did send officers to bring us to work on the bad snow and ice days:lol: i hated that cause i really wanted to stay at home with the kids, fireplace burning, and a pot of soup on the stove.

Believe me it is not so special, usually means you have a problem and you are not going to get back home anytime soon.

DH just called and said there is an accident at exit 319 and 312.
Take your time folks. Like I said I rather go to work late than go to the hospital.
I am waiting for someone to get to work anyhow because we have to go up a hill to get to our parking area and when I saw the pictures on the news around the area I work..........it's snowy! lol

My son's bus was about 15 minutes late, not bad. I'm hoping that's a sign that the bus driver is taking it slow and easy this morning. Our front porch and back deck are covered in what appears to be sleet.

With the way Elizabeth Gardner is talking, I think I'll make the executive decision to keep my two elementary school kids home. Why wake them up and send them to school when JCPS will probably just turn around and let them out anyway.

My middle school kid's bus hasn't gotten here yet and it is usually here around 6:45. Hmmm, should I just keep him home too?

I remember a couple of years ago it was snowing and they didn't say anything about Johnston County schools so I like alot of other parents took the kids to school and then at 10 they were letting school out. ugh!

OH yeah I don't like the idea of my kids riding the bus when the roads are bad. I know I wouldn't be able to control something as big as a bus!

BF just called and said he heard on the radio JC Schools are closed, but I haven't seen/heard anything on WRAL or WTVD, and my son's bus picked him up 1/2 hr or more ago, so that would be stupid to close now that they already picked up kids. I think BF's hearing needs to be checked.
