My supervisor just called and said that she isn't going in because her son's school closed and they are in Cary.
While driving into Angier this morning there was a rollover on Cornwallis, 50/210 and one at Old Stage road and 210. Seen only 1 school bus when I normally see about 5.
WRAL online is now showing Johnston Christian is closed. I did not see that school on the TV when the list of schools scrolled a few minutes ago.
Called the school to ask about my son's bus and she said that some buses are not going down some roads into subdivisions.
Let me just ask this... HOW THE HECK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHICH BUS IS GOING TO GO DOWN WHICH ROAD IN WHICH SUBDIVISION? Did I forget to take ESP when I was in school?
I just looked on wral.com, no listing of Johnston County being closed. It took me 1 hr 50 min to durham this morning. normally 45-50 min. Wake not closing until 6:55 was a mess. many busses already on the raod, teachers on the road. they shoudl have done a 2 hr delay.
I am very very suprised they didn't do a 1 or 2 hr delay. When I looked outside at 6 am I was sure I would see a delay!
it doesn't look bad out there now. how did it look at 6? doesn't look like anything is on the road now.
Back deck full of sleet and I could still hear it coming down. On the plus side of all this.............I get to stay home alone! woo hoo!
Roads are pretty much ok now. Just slushy in the middle. The rain is helping. Now, let's hope it stays over freezing for the ride home ('cuz I'm at work now). Frogger
LOL! Great intro to the customs of JoCo! I'm a transplant, but I stay home with a package of hot cocoa from last year (literally, I had to climb up on a stool to search for it in the cabinet) but I do have AAA. Although, the one time I used it, I found out I don't really need it around here, but I think I'll keep it for the occasional trip to Florida or New England.
KD~ I've used AAA around here. Inveriably (sp?), I need a tow about once/yr. It saves me $$ in the long run. Frogger
Why does WRAL feel the need to continue broadcasting over something as minor as this 'storm'? I want my morning dose of Dr. Phil with my breakfast and coffee!
Rather comical that it is referred to as a storm that is for sure. As for Dr. Phil...a BIG no thank you!
