Isn't there some sort of a small produce market out near Flowers on 42E as part of the new community stuff?? Also passed by, but haven't been in, a small produce market on Poole Rd., from Bethlehem Rd., heading towards Wendell on the right. I did a search and found this: http://www.ncfarmfresh.com/FarmMarketDisplay.asp?FarmID=1631 and a list of farmers markets by city/town in NC: http://www.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets/States/NorthCarolina.htm#C
The convenience store on the North side of 70 at Guy road had some produce out there last time I was by. Howard's?
Thats changed ownership... now its "Las Carolinas" Gas & Grocery.. don't know if they kept the grill area inside or not.... The only thing I've seen out there is the guy who sells shrimp (used to be across the road at the other gas station), Bill the airbrush guy, and an old guy that sells wooden stuff he makes.. bird houses, benches, etc...
thats a safe bet.. depends on where you are in Clayton and where in Smithfield you're going to, 30 minutes should be max from any point in either town to any point in the other though. I know from my house off of Amelia Church Rd. to the factory outlets it takes me just about 20 minutes.. if that helps judge any at all.
Thanks! That helps a lot because the house i'm considering is off of Amelia Church. How do you like that area?
Main St in Clayton? What about the little produce and plant shop across from TR Lees on Main St? They have pretty fresh stuff when they're open. I think it's Lee's Produce or something like that...
What does "Bill the airbrush guy" paint. Does he just do shirts or can he do a child's baseball helmet? I saw some really cute batting helmets last year and would like to get one painted up for my son this year. If "Bill" doesn't do this, does anyone know an inexpensive person who does?
Wilson's Farm Market in Wilson Mills Wilson's Farm Market in Wilson Mills has vegetables that are in season. And as mentioned before the Raleigh Farmers Market is by far the best and it is convenient to 40/42 and Clayton areas as it is right off I-40. Easy drive except for rush hour traffic times.
lee's produce lee's produce is across the street from t.r. lees. it is located at the corner of main street and robertson street in clayton. jason lee is the operator and he is a great guy. he sells seasonal vegetables, pinestraw, firewood, plants, flowers, etc.
He does great work and will airbrush on anything... people bring him truck hoods and tailgates, motorcycle parts.. he does a good job, I had him do some team t-shirts a few years back.
Yes, there is a small farmer's market on 42E just before Buffaloe Rd. Great product and great prices.
