Hi I'm new to your forums and I'll be posting from time to time. But for now I need to find a traffic lawyer. I had just recently got a speeding ticket:-( and I am looking for any recommendations
I recommend checking with the DAs office and court system first. If you have a decent record, you can get as good a deal as a lawyer and save yourself a few hundred bucks as well.
64 in a 45 and I had a speeding ticket 2 and a half years ago. I think I'll get the lawyer. So any recommendations on one? Oh and also this was in Johnston County.
i use Jimmy Larwence out of smithfield. he charged me around 300-350 for a 75 in a 55...and it doesn't show anywhere on my record it happened.
Hugh, I believe that it reflects the system as it has always operated, and probably will continue to do so.. It's the other golden rule....He who has the gold makes the rules. The speeding ticket fine and insurance costs will probably cost as much as finding an attorney to help get the charge reduced. Under the multiplicative effect of money, the local attorney will pay for local services and products, so the local economy will benefit somewhat, just as if it was disbursed through the court system. One can argue that paying an attorney to approach the DAs office, reach an agreement to reduce the charge to somteting that the accused will accept & that the DA is ok with, actually reduces the clogged court docket. Looking at a dollars and cents mode, being able to pay to reduce the possibility of punitive measure by being able to afford the ability to sway the judicial system can be a motivating factor to reach that level. YMMV
Rather than the economic model, I was focused more on adults taking personal responsibility for their own actions.
Mistakes happen. No one is perfect. We can let this post die I already got 3 recommendations and that should be enough. Thank you
boy, did he screw you over. A very good lawyer shouldn't charge you over 250 bucks for something simple as that unless you had a big rap sheet. back to point here, if you need a lawyer for Wake, let me know.. I got the best you can get without getting rape
Maybe drive the posted speed limit! One of the driving problems around here is that too many people like to drive way too fast....
Valentine One. I bought one in 2000. Best $400 I've spent...but used smartly, of course. Its no magic bullet, but it works awesomely well. Their website is www.valentineone.com. Of course, the obvious is "obey the posted limits" but if you are like me, you tend to find yourself being a bit heavy-footed.
practicaly any lawyer will get you off if you pay them enough. i know someone that has had may DUIs and speeding tickets and his lawyer in Smithfield got him off every time and there is no record of it. just pay them the bucks. i don't agree with it but that's the way it is. money talks.
Don Wells at The Mast Law Firm got me out of a 95 in a 55zone for like $300 or $400. I have a bad record so that's why mine was so high. His office is at Old Drug Store Road and 42hwy.
If you haven't had a speeding ticket in three years you can always do 'prayer for judgement' It will save you some $
Wrong. Maybe the posted speed limits are artificially low and haven't kept up with the times in order to generate revenue from tickets. One of the driving problems around here is that people like to drive too slow. It is IMPOSSIBLE to go from Clayton to 40/42 without getting behind some grandma driving 45 mph. Before all the growth we used to FLY down these country roads unless we got behind a tractor. Now everything is completely clogged with transplants and we're forced to drive the same speed as the slowest one. If you like spending time behind the wheel of your car, do it in your own driveway!
Maybe if you haven't noticed there are too many people getting hurt on these roads from accidents. Statistically speed seem to have a big role in most accidents. If by some chance you do end up behind me Wales and climb on my backside due to your impatience that would be your issue! For the most part I do drive the posted speed and I am very courteous on the road.... There was a thread on this forum about speeders and rude people on the road. It was the consensus of the group that they were getting quite sick of speed demons and rudeness! But hey, what do they learn if all they have to do is get a lawyer and get off the charge? I think that says a lot about our laws doesn't it? And why do the Cops even bother issuing tickets? Personally I would rather go the posted speed and save the money I would spend getting off the charge and use the money more wisely.
