Miles Davis & John Coltrane - SO WHAT 1958 film of the session http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4FAKRpUCYY&eurl=
that's just the best darn music ever. Still have the LP, which I bought for a jazz class in college some 25 years ago. Thanks for the post, Hught. It's interesting to watch them. I especially got a kick out of the shot with Coltraine playing and Miles standing in the background smoking a cigarette. Snuff
Something like that needs to be shared, I have seen Dizzy a few times and there is no comparison in my opinion.
I agree. Nobody coaxes the music out of a trumpet like Miles. I love the way he uses pauses. Oops, I guess I should have put that in past tense.
I just bought the most fantastic Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane CD last week, and I can't keep it out of my CD player. Bought another Bill Evans last night, and some Louis Armstrong. If I buy anymore Bill Evans...I'm going to have to give him his own room in my house. You've got great taste, Hught! :-D
Thanks, so do you! We can't agree on everything, or hardly anything, but I am pleased we have something in common. :-D
