Time to get my eyes re-checked! My glasses are for crap, and I'm tired of not being able to read the scrolling TV guide, lol...

Anyone heard of any great deals lately?

If you are a member of Bj's (or maybe even Sams Club), you can bring your script there and usually get a good deal. Bj's usually has coupons.

We just recently shopped around for lenses and frames for my teenage daughter and why found a good deal at Walmart and they gave us a small additional (10%) discount because we have BCBS ins.

They are all ridiculously overpriced,so I went with a convenient location. Don't remember the name; it's the place in Smithfield on the corner of Brightleaf and Booker Dairy Rd. (Optometric Eye Care?).

My son didn't like any of the children's glasses they had. The person working there said he could probably fit the smallest adult size, so he picked out a pair of frames he liked. Then they only charged me the children's glasses price. I thought that was pretty cool. You don't want to know what I had to pay for my glasses!

I payed 120 for my youngest sons. They broke. Well one of the screws came out. They were the ones you can bend every which way. No rims and no (what do you call it?) reflection? It looks like he isn't wearing any...

    Expensive stuff!!!

His dad has good eyes and I have 20/20. I don't know where his sight comes from. He has 20/30, I think that is right..

Both of my kids are far sighted, and have been wearing glasses since they were young toddlers. The new place I have found to buy their glasses is Visionworks. They are advertised in the Sunday coupons sometimes. I got 2 pairs for $99. Which is really good, and they don't have to be 2 pairs for the same person. They can be for 2 different people. I have been pleased with them.
We have used Walmart, BJ's and Optometric Eye Care in Cary, near Crossroads. All have been good experiences, but bery expensive. And, my little boy is very hard on his glasses, and we have to have a scratch and breakage warranty on his glasses. It's worth the little bit extra. BJ's and Walmart only cover breakage not scratches.

my eyes are very bad. i'm blind without glasses or contacts. my perscription alone is around $200, then i have to get the special stuff in the lens so they won't be so thick and i get the anti glare stuff too. i also go to an opthamologist instead of some of these hole in the wall doctors. i dont buy groceries at WalMart, I'm certainly not going to buy glasses there. and yes i bought designer frames. lol

Orange Slice, I'm with ya on that one.

My glasses are not from WallyWorld either. Little One needed glasses & I took her to my eye doctor. They are great for her.

Wouldn't go to a discount house for my glasses. I know they have to have some knowledge, but my eyes are the only set I have. I've known people who got bad 'scripts at those places and it really messed with their eyes.

'sides, I try hard not to go to WallyWorld for anything anyway!

Sorry, HG. Something about lasers and my eyes. If I'm gonna go blind, that's the way the Almighty wants me. Ain't gonna burn my eyes to see better ;) .

'Course, big sis had it done and loves it!!!

Depends on the insurance plan you have.

BCBS has a "vision" plan don't they? Call your BCBS person, they should know.

We didn't have any insurance to cover it, BUT you can do no interest for 18 months at her place.
