Pretty cool site that gives American Rhetoric's top 100 speeches by Americans. Most offer complete streaming/downloading of the speeches. http://www.americanrhetoric.com/top100speechesall.html And I tried, but could not pass on it, George W does not pop up anywhere on this list!
Thats a pretty good list. It amazes me that current politicians that have been career "speakers/politicians" are as bad at public speaking as they are. I think Gore, Kerry, and Bush are all very bad speakers. That being said, I would add Bush's speach after 9 11.
Oh, it's just so wonderful!!! Jesse Jackass and Anita "The Liar" Hill definitely rank up there with the Gettysburg Address!!!
Do you think Anita Hill and Shirley Chisholm are the same person? Those are Shirley Chisholm's middle and maiden names.:? (Not that I agree with your characterization of Ms. Hill; unfortunately I think the liar in that case is sitting on the S.Ct.)
After reading some of those speeches from long ago, and seeing how little progress we've made in many areas, its glaringly obvious that there are some problems that can't be solved by governments. Moral fiber is grown in people, not mandated by their government.
