Hubby just called and they knew exactly what he wanted....
sounded like they have been getting lots of calls...
she took his name, address, and phone number

we still need more families to call though...this is the only way to progress.

    More you can do!

Governor Easley, Senator Fred Smith, Representative James Langdon Jr. and the Johnston County Board of Education have been informed of the Danny Chance situation. Please call their offices and let them know you want their support in preventing Danny Chance from accessing the Cleveland community. The more constituents that call the more they will advocate on our behalf.

    Governor Michael Easley 919-733-4240

    Senator Fred Smith 919-733-5748

    Representative James Langdon Jr. 919-733-5849

Johnston County Board of Education, Dr. Ed Croom - 919-934-6032 x 226

How do I find when an inmate is eligible for parole?
This information is not currently available online. You can call the Parole Commission at 919-716-3010 or call the DOC Public Affairs Office at 1-800-368-1985.

Is parole the same as probation?

Probation is served instead of a prison sentence, and violations of the conditions of the probation can result in the convict going to prison to serve out the sentence.

Parole occurs after a convict has served active prison time and is let out of prison to serve the remainder of the sentence in the community. Like probation, any violations of the conditions of parole can result in the convict returning to prison to serve out the sentence.

In effect, they are the same. it's just one happens instead of active prison time, the other after prison time.

Even so, a 70 year old can still pull a trigger.

I was hoping someone here with a pitchfork or torch would give us the scoop. So what is the scoop? Did Danny Chance know the victims or were they innocent bystanders? Is the public in danger ...or just the people who know him?

I hear what you're saying Clif, but if the victims were innocent bystanders, this guy will never deserve to live among free society.

    Victims were randomly selected

The victims were randomly selected! The rape victim was a 14 year old girl and the young man murdered was a 23 year old.

Apparently, the two were chosen at RANDOM, kidnapped and taken to a field where the rape and murder took place over the course of several hours.

Please voice your concern about this guy being placed near 4 schools!

If this is true, he's got no business being on the street. PERIOD!

Danny and his friends left a bar with the intent to find someone to terrorize and picked these two up at random. The 14 year old girl was gang raped repeatedly in two locations while the young man was tied to a tree and beaten to death. The girl was left for dead in tall weeds, but lived to identify Danny.

We cannot allow this man to come to this neighborhood area with literally hundreds of children of all ages in close proximity. Jordan Ridge, Twisted Oaks and Island Creek are all packed together and is growing larger, meaning more and more children are moving in weekly.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let your voices be heard at the numbers Kroywendy has posted! YOUR call may be the one that shows them the light in their decision and may just be the "one more" which keeps another child safe and another family from experiencing that kind of pain. There may not be anything that can keep him from being released, but he doesn't have to be dropped off in a neighborhood full of children. I want to also point out that this man won't even be required to register as a sex offender because his conviction was before the date the registry was put into place.

Actually is worthless to call Dole's and Etheridge's office, since this is a state prison matter and not a federal.

Now that is really scary!!! I can't imagine a person like this being allowed to live near schools & families without having to register. I didn't realize he wouldn't have to register. It's a little worrisome wondering what type of folks may choose to move into your neighborhood. At this rate my child will never be allowed to walk to his friends house without me. He'll probably be driving a car before I feel safe enough to let him go into a restroom without myself or his Dad. Just when I think I'm being overprotective & silly ... I find out about folks like this and get all worried again. This man has no business living in this area or anywhere else .... In fact, this man has no business living at all. Folks are welcome to argue that this guy is getting a bad shake and he has served his time ... but I doubt those same folks would want this guy anywhere around their loved ones. This guy destroyed the lives of two strangers just so he could have a little "fun". This man is sick and shouldn't be allowed to live outside of a cage.

Exactly Melynda! Will you take a few minutes to make those calls? And if you've already done so, thank you so much!
