Looking for recommendation for a “ Saturday night out ont he town restaurant” in either downtown Raleigh or North Hills. Looking for something not too elegant and not Apple Bees-ish. Just need something with chicken, steak & pasta dishes not escargot Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
518 West in Downtown is a great pasta place Michael Dean's in N.Raleigh (on Wake Forest/Falls of Neuse) is a great seafood place Second Empire in Downtown is a great steak place but pricey BoneFish Grill in N.Hills is supposed to be great althrough I have never been Hope this helps... regardless of where you choose, I would call ahead for reservations (I know from experience at Second Empire & Michael Deans) not sure about the others. Good luck
http://www.fraziersbistro.com/ Just tried them - fabulous food. Fast, cheap and delightfully delicious!
Keep in mind that due to major constructions behind 518 West, you will have to find street parking. They lost their parking until all construction is finished.
Dinner at Firebirds We had dinner at Firebirds several months ago. It was highly recommended by a friend. There were 4 of us and all ordered different items. No one liked their meals and felt the restaurant was overpriced. Just one opinion. Noisy atmosphere. Service was good.
We went to Firebirds a while back and enjoyed the food and service. However, I agree that the atmosphere was a little too noisy. Recently other members of my family went back and said the food wasn't quite as good as it was the evening we all went together. I guess every place is going to have a bad night in the kitchen every now and then. I know this may not be in the area mentioned - but not so long ago I visited the Twisted Fork at the Triangle Town Center Mall (www.thetwistedfork.com) and really enjoyed the food and the service. Although we were with a party of 8, the food & beverages arrived quickly and the entire evening was enjoyable. We've only been to the Twisted Fork once, but we definately plan to visit again
