We have a home with NO landscaping. I have heard you can get deals on large trees at Broadwell Nursery?. Also, if anyone has dealt with them...do they deliver?. And last but not least...any landscapers out there who might be able to plant several 10-15' trees once we purchase?. Thanks!!

We bought a whole yard full of shrubs there 3 years ago. I don't think they deliver but I'd certainly ask. Also check out the prices at Stephenson's Nursery on 50. They have the BEST customer service!

    We must have been misinformed!

We were told Stephenson's on Hwy. 50 was wholesale only. Evidently we were misinformed.

dm06. Broadwells don't deliver as far as I know. Stepenson's is wholesale only, for the most part. I can buy from either and have the equipment for anything. Call me. 919.369.7961

Broadwells is awesome! You do have to know what you are looking for although we were there OFTEN last spring/summer (bought over 50 trees) and found the gentlemen who was often near the building when you enter very helpful. Saturday is probably the worst day to go if you want to ask questions. Weekdays they are definitely less crowded.

We bought Viburnum (most about 5 ft.) for $15 each. Trees such as dogwoods (5-6 ft) were running $20. I do not think they deliver but if you plan to get a bunch it is worth asking. We'll be heading back out there in the coming weeks for some more :)

Broadwell's Nursey is owned by Mr & Mrs Henry Broadwell, they live & work just off NC 210 towards Angier. Turn LF on to Old Stage Road, pass their daughter's VERY NICE Animal Hospital and the other 2 smaller Nursey operations & turn in to their HOUSE Driveway - drive on back and bring a TRUCK.

Do not expect hands on customer service, do not expect anyone to walk around the 100's of acres & many farms of plants/trees/shrubs and point out what will grow in full shade & what will grow in the sun, etc...

Know that you can & will save BIG MONEY but you will need to do your homework first. and Do not CALL and ask if they have a blah-blah in a 5 gal pot for how much.

It is wholesale and the 18 wheeler loads going to other nurseys might be in front of you to pay.

No, Do not ask me how I know this!

    They will deliver...for a charge

Broadwell will deliver for an expensive charge of approximately $100 a truck load. I went there in August and talked with the gentleman that helps out on the weekends there. He makes deliveries, but they don't advertise delivery. I didn't use him, because I thougt the fee was a bit expensive, so I don't how good the service is.

I would say $100 is worth it if you are buying those big trees. You can kill one really easy trying to get it home in the back of a pick up truck. The wind burns it. We learned this the hard way. The big trees they have are a bargain at $40 a pop. Try pricing those at Lowe's. LOL...I love Broadwells for things like trees and liriope, they beat the heck out of Lowe's prices. They also are pretty good for lillies and butterfly bushes. Good luck. It's worth a visit if you've never been.

If you want trees and someone to deliver and plant them, try JUST TREES on Hwy 50 - they are a one stop place for it all. If you have never planted your own trees, please do all the research first and remember if you buy wholesale there is no guarantee or warranty on anything you purchase.

Thanks, Kaci...I have planted before. I am just feeling lazy and not wanting to do it now..haha. I have looked at the website for the place you mentioned. They seem a bit high $$, though they do offer a guarantee.

Hey, I got some a couple years ago, and 3 of them are still living! I would describe the "trees" I received as twigs with a few hair-like roots on them.
