the price of stamps going up AGAIN??? This is just insane!!! Do they know how many stamps I buy in a month?? Guess I need to get a bulk permit now. :?

The USPS JUST raised them from 37 to 39. Hell I still have .37 stamps in the drawer from the last stamp hike! Now they want .41 for a STAMP???

THIS IS BULL MALARKEY!

the cost of mailing a letter is still a great deal IMHO. What else can you get for .39 cents (or even .42)???

Yes, the USPS has issues, but overall- we've had very good service from them and at least they are trying to stay competitive with Fedex and UPS, etc. (cue USPS horror stories......now) ;)

By the way, if you're concerned about postage going up, you should take advantage of the "forever" stamp that has been proposed- it's supposed to be good for mailing a letter anytime in the future- no matter what the postage rate goes up to (ASSuming it happens)!!! Sounds like a good opportunity to stock up on stamps and save some $- or maybe even make some $$.

EDIT: here's a link to the "Forever" stamp press release-

I think they should increase the cost of sending junk mail. Why do I get half a dozen catalogs a year from a company I ordered something from once - 7 or 8 years ago - and they all say "This could be your last catalog". Promises, promises.

Hell , I pay my bills on line thru my bank, I send email, I buy things on line. A book of stamps lasts me 3 or 4 months. Before long I'll figure out how to live without the postal service. let them raise the prices.

Yeah K and Ready, I read about the "forever" stamp. Probably would cost $1 now and then they make a rule that no more stamps increases, EVER! That would be my luck!

K, I hear ya about FEDEx, I use them once a week maybe once every 2 weeks. $30 for one pkg, that maybe weighs 2 lbs to CO? :?

Ya'll know me, I think everything's a racket and WAY overpriced!

I tried that but thanks to FOUR OAKS BANK screwing me over when we did online banking, I am scared to death to do it now! Btw, I DO NOT bank with F O B anylonger!!

Also I have invoices to send out to customers once a month, they need to get their bill. ;)

I'm getting invoices to my email now. Why not offer that to your customers? You can attach the invoice to the email. I balked at first, but am used to it now.

I pay all my bills either thru my work account or MyCheckFree.com. Have been doing it for years, and haven't had a problem. I was nervous about it at first, but it's turned out to be a great thing for me.

I hate that the postage is going up also. I heard about the "forever" stamp, but thought it was an add-on stamp, not regular postage. Like you add it with the old postage stamp and it makes it up for the new rate. Have to go read about it. May have heard incorrectly.

The problem with that is the older customers I have, that don't even own a computer LOL! Also, doing it that gives people an "out"... " oh I never got the e-mail" OR someother excuse NOT to pay me! I get a lot of that.

You know..."the check's in the mail"

Have a great day, gotta go!

I was just thinking the samething, I can't even remember the last time I bought a stamp. Online banking is the best!

I sure hope they decide to start delivering my mail to my mailbox if they are going up on stamp prices.

My neighbors take their time giving me my mail these days.

Well, no wonder they have to keep going up on the price - it looks like no one uses the service any more except you.

I bank at Wachovia. The online bill pay is free. It saves me from going to 20 different websites and trying to remember passwords. There are times when you have to us the USPS like Christmas cards and the like but even that is getting more and more infrequent. Speaking of that I need stamps, have to mail a thank you letter.
