Anybody go there and if so, can you recommend a stylist? And are their prices reasonable? Or suggestions for other places in the 40/42 area...I know there's a thread somewhere, but I'm too lazy to search for it! I'm normally a loyal customer of Jenny (as many of us are!) But I need a haircut and color touch-up and she's all booked throught next week! Thats the only thing I don't like...its so hard to get an appt when you need it.....and I'm not the type to make appts weeks in advance.
I met another gal, Michelle, over with Jenny at Radiance. Seemed nice and had nice hair. Passed out coupons for $10 off first visit. If she is less booked and you want a coupon, let me know!
Thanks for the offer....but I think I'd rather not go to someone else at that salon...I don't know, I think it would be awkward? And she's right there beside Jenny too! although 10.00 off....tempting, but she's probably pretty high priced too! THe new salon is very nice!
The girl i go to now i have had to book for the entire year - she is that booked up:shock: My first appt with her had to be booked 4 months in advance. But someone else who is good is Joanie in Garner, there was a thread recently with her new place of business and phone number if you want to look.
Salon 42..... has several terrific stylists. My wife and I have always been very pleased with them. I would suggest Robin, Sissy or Natalie. They are all experienced and up to date on current styles. I have heard good things about the other stylists there as well but have no personal experience. Prices are also very good. Hope this helps.
That's it, she is a real sweetheart and really good. Raynor Rd is in Garner, i believe off Old Garner Rd. She used to be at McGees Xroads but has opened her own place.
Ignore that last comment, i didn't know Jenny had moved again, sorry - thanks le for setting me straight
Jenny is hard to keep up with - that is for sure. I used to get cuts at a place in (ugh) cary and would hop between two of the gals there depending on who could squeeze me in last minute. I like to think so long as they are busy, they do not really care who does whose hair! But, I could be wrong.
Chenoa at Salon 42 has been cutting our hair for the past 5-6 years and we have always been very happy with the way she cuts and styles it.
I really like Beverly at Salon 42 as well. My mom also has Beverly cut her hair. And she is very nice.
Sissy cut my hair several years ago. She messed up one side so bad that I had to go to someone else and get my long hair cut very short and I was very upset. I will never go back. Too much talking and not paying attention to what you're doing.
Beverly at Salon 42 does my hair, and she's awesome. I have um... problem hair. Thick, wavy, frizzy. She's helped me figure it out and tame it. She isn't pretentious or distracted, and she listens to you. Can't say enough good things about her!
Well, I went to Beverly today and I was not real happy  . I think the cut will be okay...but she styled it to look like an old lady! When I got home and wet and restyled, looked better, still not what I wanted or showed her a picture of....but I guess it will do. Don't think I'll be back tho! Just need to learn to plan further ahead if I want to get appts with our girl Jenny!!!
Bandmom~ Hmmm, that's odd! Beverly has always paid close attention to my requests (and I'm picky with a capital P) and I've been happy. So sorry what you got wasn't what you wanted  .
Thanks, I'm starting to get the hang of it by now, lol! Do you remember what it looked like in high school, before I discovered straighteners and relaxers? It's like if Ted Nugent and Roseann Roseanna Danna had a baby.... Honestly Beverly showed me a couple of things I could do with my hair, to tame it. I agree Beverly is very concerned with what I want done, but I know going in there are certain limitations to what I can do. No matter what, my hair isn't going to look like the one in the picture. I know that each stylist is different, and people may not like my stylist any more than I would like theirs. I think personality has a lot to do with it too. I've been to several (read: TONS) of salons looking for the right person to do my hair, and some women who were highly recommended I wouldn't let touch my dog. I'm happy with Beverly, and will stick with her. Here's hoping that every woman finds the perfect stylist for them.
