I had a bad experience at Staples today. I have their house brand ink cartridge in my printer. They include a recycle envelope when you buy one. I needed a new one so I put it in the envelope, sealed it and took it to the store (per instructions thereon). It says they will give a $3 coupon on the next purchase. I get to the store, the clerk rips the envelope open and tells me "Sorry we don't recycle our own brand!" The envelope doesn't state this anywhere. Not only do they not recycle it but they don't even have a replacement. I thought the guarantee to be in stock. Long story short, I will never go back there and I'll just buy the name brand ink at good old Wal Mart. Staple Sucks! Easy button my ***!
Go to 123inkjets.com and buy your ink cartridges at a very low price. They are shipped out quickly. I tried them and have been very pleased.
Stone, It seems to me that if they valued your business, they'd have tried to reach some compromise. Fishtales, our children's book business, is certainly not one of their biggest corporate customers. For our money, however, we beelive we should receive good service. I had great hopes for Staples when they opened at 306. I do like the cust service from the print side of the house. Ginny Dupree has always done what she could to get our business. Most of the floor staff is freindly and helpful. So why, then, would one ask why we haven't shopped there in three months? We certainly have needed and purchased supplies and services. Quite simply, they lost their competitive spirit. We were in the market for a new laptop for C6. We began at Staples and she really liked the laptop she found there. They were out of stock, except for the floor model and told us that they would get one from their Raleigh store and call us. Wanting a CD, we stopped at Best Buy, and, just to look, went to the computer section. We found a similar laptop, memory, processor speed, etc..the price from Best Buy was significantly less expensive. Having spoken with the Staples folks ten minutes earlier, I called them, and spoke to the store manager, and asked of they could compete. His response was No. I didn't expect them to give me the Staples laptop. I at least had hoped that they would have tried to get somewhere in the ballpark. The next time we went in for some print services, it was 8:30. The young lady at the print place was helping another customer. By the time they wre finished, it was about 8:35. We asked for an oversize print. The young lady said that the machine needed 15 minutes to warm up and that the store was closing at 9. In my mind, that left 5 minutes. We are used to waiting for print services there, and usually shop while we wait. I asked politely, again, for the service, pointing out that the time was available. She rolled her hip, copped an attitude, and said, I SAID WE ARE CLOSING IN 15 MINUTES. At that point, we smiled, said thanks, and walked out. Haven't been back since. Have no plans to do so.
