Hey y'all, is there a laundromat in this area? I have a great big comforter that I need to wash and I'd like to take it to a nice, clean laundromat and wash it in a big washer, but I can't seem to find one anywhere close by. Any suggestions? TIA!! :)

I don't know of one but believe it or not, I have tossed the idea of opening one up myself. I have absolutely no idea how to begin nor where to go to start. I just had the idea.....anyone know how someone could get something like that started? Sure would be a nice thing to have.........

I had never used a laundromat before until we started vacationing up at Lake George. With no washer or dryer at the lake house, and laundry from a family of 6 piling up, I didn't have a choice but to find one. The one I use up there is so nice and clean. They have TVs, newspapers, magazines, snack & drink machines all around. You can kick back and read or watch TV while your clothes wash and dry. And they have these big tables where you can fold your laundry while it is fresh out of the dryer. Never had a bad experience up there, and it sure beats lugging all that dirty laundry home!! I'm hoping to find one like it in the Clayton, Garner, Fuquay area.

I don't know if I would want dry cleaning chemicals on my comforter. I try to avoid dry cleaning at all costs because of the way my clothes smell after being dry cleaned - yuck (VERY sensitive nose here.) Do you know if your dry cleaner machine washes your comforter? If so, that might be an option. :)

Speaking of dry cleaners, where is a good one in this area? I've heard nothing but bad things about Mike's and the one by Food Lion at 4042 closed up.

The Forest Hills Shopping Center has a brand-spanking new one, on the Aversboro entrance side.
