When is it old enough to start a girl with a training bra? Mine is 9 and no signs of "boobies" yet but with kids nowadays, you can never tell when it will happen. Would it be to soon to get her a little training bra?

If she has nothing more than fried eggs yet, why bother? :)

Dont push it. Why push a bra on her at such a young age. It will come soon enough.

Just make sure there are no see thru shirts..

I probably wouldn't just yet, I don't think my 10 year old niece does yet either. No need to rush unless she needs them in my opinion.

As an aside, thank God I have a boy!

I would let her come and ask to start wearing one. I think sometimes it gets to be a thing where everyone else is wearing one and someone else isn't and feels left out. Guess it is part of growing up. I have a niece that is 12 and still doesn't have anything but has been wearing one for the past couple of years because all her friends and classmates were. My daughter could not wait to wear one and now she wishes she didn't have to! But I would not push her. Let it be her choice and then when she says she wants to, I would just get the sports bras.

That's what scares me! But at least he's easier to dress, some of the stuff in the store for girls freaks me out! I hate to shop for my nieces!

It could be they want to wear one only because their friends are, even if they don't have anything. At 10, they may not want their little nippys showing through (modesty and all). They have plenty of sports bras for that age, not too much support, but just enough to cover up. Thank gawd I had boys too, but my niece went through that.

Hey my daughter went to bed one night in an undershirt and woke up needing a bra. lol If she reall doesn't need one I'd let it go. If she comes and asks to start wearing one then see what would be best for her.

why would you put a training bra on a kid that has nothing to train. let her be a child for as long as she can. she has the rest of her life to wear a bra.

My daughter needed one around age 8 or 9, but unless she needs one, I wouldn't worry with it. That is unless she asks you if she can have one.

What ever happened to a girl wearing a undershirt? Ya know the tank top type? I remember having those before needing a bra. Matching panties and all. LOL

I thought the title was asking a question about DQ! lol

If you want to keep your daughters a child a little longer you might want to keep them more fit and trim.

CHICAGO - Childhood obesity in the United States appears to be causing girls to reach puberty at an earlier age, for reasons that are not clear, a study said on Monday.

The report from the University of Michigan’s Mott Children’s Hospital said a multiyear study following a group of 354 girls found that those who were fatter at age 3 and who gained weight during the next three years reached puberty, as defined by breast development, by age 9.

“Our finding that increased body fatness is associated with the earlier onset of puberty provides additional evidence that growing rates of obesity among children in this country may be contributing to the trend of early maturation in girls,” said Dr. Joyce Lee, the lead author.

Thanks all!! She hasn't asked for one but I thought it might get her used to having to wear something. I know when I first started, I hated it cause I wasn't used to it. My stepdaughter was in no way wanting to wear one. She had to be forced and she NEEDED one.........BAD.

    Sorry about the title. LOL

    Just as an aside...

    Main Entry: brazier
    Function: noun
Etymology: French brasier, from Old French, fire of hot coals, from breze hot coals — more at braise
    Date: 1658
1 : a pan for holding burning coals
2 : a utensil in which food is exposed to heat through a wire grill

Why would you want you little girl to wear one of these? ;)
