Coincidentally enough I had to discussions about this in two days. Two people approach a door from either side. Which takes precedence in or out? My opinion (out) is based on two logical thoughts. 1. In an emergency, most people want to get out. There are very few emergencies where getting in is a better idea. 2. There is (usually) more room outside than inside. Better to allow someone out as that makes more room for you to go in. So, answer the poll and give your logic as to why you voted your way.
Umm! My answer, "In" was based on something other than a door (I agree with you "Out" is the answer). I answered based off the question, I prefer to answer polls without seeing what others say.
Ok I have almost a similiar question but regarding an elevator. I have to take the elevator here at work and I think people should step off before people stepping in. But some people here don't grasp that concept. I have to agree with Kens answer.
It only matters if the price of a dozen eggs in Tokyo will affect how fast a car can burn a tank of gas.
Actually, a year or so back, I posted a peeve here about elevators It really irritates me when people stand right in front of the door of the elevator, waiting for it to arrive, as if there's no possibility that there might be someone who would want to get off on that floor (especially for those on the first floor!). Then, when the doors open, they try to rush in without waiting to see if anyone wants to get out.
My answer was preference = Out, but I don't usually read the discussion before I do the polls either . Frogger
