Does anyone know and recommend anyone or a company that can come and scoop my yard of dog poo once a week? I have two (2) dogs that are inside dogs, but since they have not learned to poo in the toliet and flush they have to go outside. I work full time and have a small child so I don't get around to scooping as much as I want and need to. I appreciate any feedback.
How old is the kid? I thought that's why people had kids, to bring them the remote, get the paper, do laundry etc...
Try Chris Gonzales at 550-2165. He also has a website at www.poopaway.com. Not sure if he does this for residence or just commercial properties. He is a really great guy.
HG, you are too funny! My son is only 19 months old now. Hence the "I have no time to scoop poo myself syndrome that I have". Once he is old enough, he will learn the fine art of poo scooping. I am working on the laundry thing. He is pretty good with a Swiffer sweeper that I minituarized for him. He is also good with the Swiffer duster and even tries to dust the dogs from time to time. Amma, Thanks for the information. I am going to call Chris right now!!
About 1/2 of our back yard is terrible. With 4 dogs, we really have to watch where we're stepping when we're walking back there or we're sure to find some smelly land mines. Somehow we're usually able to avoid them. Someone used to advertise a dog poop scoop-away service either on here or in the Cleveland Post but I can't remember what the name of the service was. :?
Manny with Happy Tails is great...553-4181. He takes care of my yard and my babies. I use both Manny and Zookeeper for my babies!
Thanks for the information. I am going to call Manny too. I called Chris and left a message. Currently we use our side yard for playing in, but it would be nice to be able to use our back yard and hang out too. Zookeeper takes care of our boys too. I think that sometimes they want us to leave more often so they can hang out with her. I know our cat feels that way.
So why have a dog? Take all the money you waste on vet bills, dog food, and poop scooping and put it in a college fund for your kids. Sorry to sound like a cold-hearted jerk, but I am constantly amazed at the ways people find to waste their money ...which was obviously much easier to earn than mine was.
PooperScooper is very popular at where I used to live (Florida) that an owner of that type of business made alot of $$$. Alot of elderys in FL have poor health or unable to do the "job" of cleaning up poops. This type of job is not exactly a glamour job though - yuk!
This is an assanine comment. I have had these dogs for a long time and they are old. I am not going to get rid of my animals. They are my responsiblity too.
Because every time I pet, hug, squeeze and otherwise love on one of my furry babies, it feels like I'm adding about 5 years to my lifespan. :-D JW, you sound like my DH with those comments. He would be very happy if we had ZERO pets, but hey, I LOVE animals (even went to school to be a vet tech), so he knew what he was getting into when he married me.
The joy my dogs bring to my life is soooo worth every penny I spend on them. It is very sad that some people are so selfish. (It's not selfish if you don't have the time and money to take care of one.) But, I think it is a wonderful thing for children to grow up with pets.
I have 4 cats and clean the box all by myself. I'm sorry, pay someone to pick up poo? You must be kidding. Josey I'm with you.
I think that you both missed the part about the full time career, not to mention house cleaning, and everything else that goes along with the responsibilities of living. If I had time to scoop it I would, it's not just because I don't want to do it. Why are the two of you and JW concerned about how I spend my money? I found someone to help me out with this. Now I need someone to clean my house so I can sit on my butt and eat bon-bons. Tit, Stone, JW...ya'll know of anyone?
You can come to my house and join me.....that's all I do, AND watch tv all day. My two year old cleans, does laundry, cooks, weeds the garden, and takes care of her 9 yr old sister and 12 yr old brother. We could train your 19 month old real quick! (that was SO dripping with sarcasm ya'll! )
