Praise God! We are a scouting family and I have cried many tears over this lost child. They are now tears of joy. We just received word from our scout office that he has been found. CNN is reporting the same.
What I don't understand is? why would you let a kid sleep in later then everyone else. Wasn't he there with the other kids and should being doing things with them. I am glad that the found him and that he is safe Ro
Our boys are taught to always stay together....always stay with a buddy. I would have told the kid to "get up we're going hiking". I have no idea at this point of his condition. No matter the "stupidness" (is that a word?) of the situation I am thankful he has been found. It has given me a wonderful opportunity to re-lecture my boys about safety and acting wisely....camping and otherwise.
Has anyone heard his condition ... his health? I'm SOOO thankful that he was found!! My brother and I were both active in Scouts growing up, our parents troop leaders, so this story struck a note .. ps: Being the typical 'little sister' that I was, I found hanging out with the Boy Scouts much more fun than being a Girl Scout.
This is such good news. At twelve, even though they try to act tough and grown up, don't you know the poor kid was scared to death and just wanted his Mama. :-(
That's great news! Just finding out.....been on the go all day, haven't heard any news today. Thanks for posting mommy3!
I tell you, the more I hear, the more I lecture my own little scouts. Thank the heavens that he is safe, but they are reporting that he basically got homesick and headed home. He was a long way from Greensboro. Bless his heart, I'm sure once the "dust settles" he's gonna get his own lecture. I'm just so thankful to have some good news about a child for a change.
It is wonderful he was found and I heard he asked for a helicopter ride out of there but they had to take him to the hospital in the ambulance, how funny !
