Not that anybody cared, but why you will not see me there

[FONT=ARIAL,HELVETICA,SANS-SERIF]Proverbs 22:7, "The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."

You can lead people to god without a new building.

It seems to me it isn't the "lurkers" who strayed form the topic. Someone else did by bringing up how a church is supposed to care about others and what they do with the money which led other areas.

The topic was about the noise. I gave a very easy way to handle things if no response was given to emails. Go in person. The noise issue has NOTHING to do with what type of building the church needs or doesn't need.

    NO, not exactly

I agree with peppercorns.....My opinion, but I don't think the lord intended for churches to be so extravagant, especially incurring debt. Then you add in that it is a country church at that. No excuse for the emails to go unanswered as well. I believe that in the original post she mentioned that she felt she would have to let them know that C3 was in her will to get them to listen.

I'm not one for real big churches either. It's too hard to keep a family connection with others without having "groups". But as far as the problem of the noise, I'd go there and see someone in person.

I WAS a member, started there when we met in the school. Very small, and he STILL didnt know me. I attended the meeting about wanting to join, stood in front of the church to join and he never even knew my name. They actually called me later to tell me there must have been confusion because I COULD NOT join their church without attending the meeting. I gave them the time and date that I went and they were like "well, ok". There were not hundreds of people there. I volunteered every week, and yet if we met in the store Matt walked right past me. If I said hello first he would do the fake "OH yeah HI" but had no idea who I was, because I wasnt the ones with the money.

I have extreme migraines, and the music was sooo loud, when I asked if it could be lowered just a tad they told me to sit in the lobby!! Not even nice about it.

    It is a cult! :)

All I can say is wow. Look at all the hypocrits here throwing stones just as hard as they can. How many of you have zero debt? How many of you never spend money for things you don't need. Despite their padded pews and stained glass windows, how many of you would like to compare your good deeds to those of C3? (BTW - I'm not a member and don't know anything about them) If you are so much better at helping others, please tell us the name of your organization so we can all get involved. If you don't think a church is using their money wisely, or at least trying too, go somewhere else ...its a free country. But don't sit at home and claim that you don't give because you don't trust churches. The real reason you won't give might be because you're lazy or selfish ...or both.

I'd be willing to bet there are more people in the area glad to see them there. The music is probably a good draw for young people who could be in much worse places. Too loud ...too soft ...too hot ...too cold. The pastor didn't speak to me. The pews are too hard ...the pew cushions cost too much ...and they're the wrong color anyway. If they were passing out $100 bills to everybody in Johnston County ...someone would complain.

It is very strange to me that Peppercorns can forgive a neighbor who lets their German Shepherd get loose and bite someone ...but is so disgruntled about a growing church in the community.

    Voting location question

Hey, I vote there! Will I get to vote in the new big fancy one or the old one?

As far as the person who said churches in the north weren't like this....take a look....

    http://www.willowcreek.org/history.asp

There's lots of them. If memory serves me (don't flame me Clif), somebody said our C3 was affiliated with a large mega-church from Illinois, Ohio, somewhere up there.

Anyway, it's religion. Make of it what you want and will. Thank God (pun intended) we live in America and can choose.

Actually it is Thomas Rd Baptist Church (Liberty University, Jerry Falwell) located in Lynchburg VA. Where the heck did you come up with OH???

I am not disgruntled about the church growing. I think it is wonderful that they have such a need and that more people are turning to God. I do not begrudge them that. I don't care about their money or their ties to other places.
I do care about the fact they they were unloading those large dump trucks at SIX AM this morning. Let the pastor live there and try to sleep or deal with a migrane with the clang clang clang of the empty tailgates banging against the back of the trucks or the beep beep beep of those truck backing up. It is wrong!!!!
AS far as the music...if I could hear the songs of praise..like choirs and organs..it might not be so bad but the drumming and the echoing bass is annoying. THe people don't sing that loud.
I hear no praise just boom boom boom.
    no fair.
Still no contact from them in anyway. Again not fair. I am not looking to yell or carry on I just want to talk. But the monolith, as Nevilock, called it doesn't want to be bothered with non-members. THat is not a very Christian attitude.

This will make the 3rd time I mentioned it. GO IN PERSON. That should be a very good way to talk to someone face to face and let your issue be known.
