It's nice to see a young entrepreneur trying to make something of himself. Who said kids today have no ambition?
Maybe it was his senior project  Seriously, glad he got caught, maybe he will learn his lesson and not get caught up in that kind of lifestyle.
caught up in that kind of lifestyle? If he was growing pot, he's been smoking it for quite a while and figured out that he could actually grow it and not have to deal with a dealer. if you're trying to grow it in your room you're definitely not doing it for distribution, as you wont make very much at all. the article says they found five small plants, i'm guessing that might be enough to support his stash for maybe a month? (no actual knowledge on it, just lots of stoner friends in highschool ;\ the only thing they could ever think of to talk about was pot... pretty sad.) Back to the point of the post though, if he's growing it in his room he's already very caught up in the lifestyle.
You're probably right about that. But at least maybe MAYBE..he'll get some help and turn his life around before he gets involved in other drugs, or more serious crimes, etc...we can only hope!
his mistake was bragging to his friends, etc that he had the plants. That is how they got their "anonymous" tip
I wonder how many heads will come out of the closet if they ever legalize pot? I mean really one of the main reasons it isn't legalized is because the gov. can't wrap their grubby little paws around the manufacturing and selling of weed towards their benefit. Ok kids don't smoke pot and stay in school!
He'll get a stiffer punishment than if he killed a friend driving drunk. That's how screwed up the legal systems' priorities are.....
Hicks was charged with manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a home to keep a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $10,500. Ok, confused here, how is a 16yo child charged with "Maintaining a home to keep a controlled substance"? Isn't he a little young to be paying for, therefore maintaining a home?
That is what i was thinking - if anyone was going to be charged with that charge it should be the parents - how could they not know their 16yo had pot growing in his room?
kookookacho wrote Dind Ding Ding,we have a winner:lol: You wouldn't believe the people that smoke herb,I knew one in his 80s that smoked(helped his appetite)and if the truth was known, there's no telling how many people on here that partakes in a little weed, ever now and then Don't lie
exactly - tax revenue... but then you would still have the backyard growers just like you have the "runners" of the fine liqueur... aka whiiiiiite lighten'
