Be scared be very scared Just finished reading this thread and have to say this sounds like a cult ! I suggest someone throw some holy water on these people and see if they catch fire or something.C3 may actually stand for cult 3.Anyone who lives near this cult needs to keep a close eye on their pets and any virgins.
OK...I have followed this thread from the beginning, here is my take, not that it makes a difference or not. I don't attend C3, have thought about it in the past though, their sermons do sound interesting and I only post once in a while here at 4042. Peppercorns has a valid complaint/question about the noise in the neighborhood, she has tried various ways of contacting someone at the church, I think she deserves a response. C3 seems like a very contemporary church I think it is great that they reach out to those lost sheep that need guidance in finding the Lord, I think that is wonderful, I would like to see more outreach programs they have somewhere in writing. I think it sounds like a fun church actually. I think religion and attending or joining a church is an individual preference and this topic is WAY off base from Peppercorns original post I don't care who attends the church I would only care about what I got out of it. What really interests me which was recently brought up is the coffee shop gig...that is bizarre....so if it is a Starbucks, can I stop there in the morning to get free coffee on the way to work? I just think this thread has gotten way out of hand I think I am going to focus more on that little baby and saying some prayers for him instead of C3. But I do hope they respond to Peppercorns. Have a good day Sharon
I see that the other thread is missing. The one about buying lemons at the store  What happened? Is everyone okay?
Ken, you're usually more logical than this. What percentage of the membership do you think is represented in this thread? I can't believe anyone would base their opinion of this church on this particular thread. Someone with the name "Rettaman" had a very good post saying that they would bring this to the attention of someone and that the church would not condone violating any noise ordinances. The post was deleted for some reason. It seems to me that many of you have some type of weird hangup with this church ...or maybe church in general. And the ones preaching about the money changers in the temple have no idea what the story means. The money changers were hindering people from worship. This coffee shop appears to be doing the opposite ...especially if its free coffee. Wow. They actually handcuff you and drag you through the doors? Maybe it is some kind of cult. A coffee cult. Now go back to rattling your cages.
I actual called Fred Smith to ask a question about something, back in Nov. He returned my call in a few hours, was real nice and answered my question.
Mr. Smith has never responded to me. I've always been nice to him. I am now civil, don't go out of my way, and wouldn't contact him for anything since he's proven to me he doesn't care enough to respond to someone without the big $$$.
Ok, just to set the record straight. Right now before any service there is free coffee offered to any and all. From what i understand this will continue and the coffee shop being built will be totally separate and therefore charging for coffee. That is my understanding.
Why does some of the C3 members or vistors call someone at the Church and tell them to contact the thread starter and answer her questions? If this was my church it would have had the question answered. Maybe not resloved but at least answered.
hmmm......Wonder why Could it be that Mr Smith called you back because you had big $$$$$ to give or as listed in your profile: Location: Johnston County, NC Occupation: Construction Project Manager you are in the industry he makes a lot of money in and needs to respond. I am still holding out hope that Mr. Smith contacts me, but it is fading.
I'm sort of a neo-luddite, and still learning the lingo...what's a "C & E" Christian? During the times I miss, I tell people I went to "Bedside Baptist" or "Mattress Methodist" or "Pillow Presbyterian" or some such thing... As far as the elephant in the room (or the mass of metal by the road), I am still biting my tongue... so far that's kept me out of trouble... <sigh>... (and there's so much snarky stuff I could say...)
Well i could be my occpation, and it is definatley not #1 ($$$). although when i left ameesage I don't think I stated my occupation. Big $$$$ that makes me laugh.
