I 'd hope to get the 1st ingredient before I go to the grocery store today. I'll have to check the post again later tonight.
Yer welcome ... good luck! Let us all know how it works, those of you who try it. Ive heard from people who try the cabbage soup diet, or these kind of soup based diets, DO work ... for short term weight loss.
No Soup For You!! Listen, do NOT try that cabbage soup diet!! I know someone who did it for two weeks and ended up in the hospital with severe constipation. I didn't know that could happen with constipation, but she said that she had a high fever and severe pain in her chest. At first they thought it was pnuemonia, but x-rays showed that she had so much...well, you know...in her system (along with gas) that her body was severely messed up.She had to stay in the hospital for 2 days. Leave it alone and try the doctor reccommended diet: Eat less and exercise more!!
Thanks Master Shake! I guess you're right...I just need to exercise more. I don't need to lose much weight any way...maybe 5 pounds and I'd be happy. I'm not that overweight, my clothes are just feeling a little snug. Now that the weather's better maybe I can get out and go walking. It's the gettin' started that gets me! LOL!
DEFINITELY a better idea to lose weight the real way ... proper diet and exercise. Walking is a GREAT idea! The weight will stay off, and you'll be healthier all around!
Soup Diet I did the Cabbage Soup Diet a month ago. It specifically says only to do it for 7 days in order to start seeing results. Then eat healthily for the next 7 weeks. You should not do it more than one week out of every 8 weeks. I lost 7 pounds. Five of those have stayed away for the last four weeks. The best thing was I HAD to get all my vegetable servings in. (I snacked on a lot of carrots, peppers, cucumbers, etc.) It is high in fiber, which is good for you. I don't know how anyone could be constipated if they follow the actual diet for one week since there is so much fiber and you are drinking plenty of water each day. I am not a doctor, but perhaps your friend, Master_Shake, already had some blockage she was unaware of when starting the diet. I made the basic soup (minus the mushrooms since I don't like them in soup) and put it in quart freezer containers. When I heated each day's soup, I added different spices...one day was spicy, the next had ginger and lemon pepper, and another day I added oregano and so on. This helped vary the taste of the soup. I used the V8 as the base...much better than just the broth IMO. Now that I am not "on the diet" for a few more weeks, I am more conscious of how many vegetables I am eating. Once I get back into the exercise routine, I hope to see many more pounds leave!
I am sorry...I was away from my computer this afternoon but I did see that someone found what you were looking for. I don't care for what they have listed in the recipe and I was wondering if I could subistute with Minnestrone. Ro
This thread will make you want to vomit. Take a little time to find out how your body uses and processes food. Stupid diets such as this are for the mindless.
