    Hi!

We've recently moved to the Clayton area and are in need of a good veteranarian. Can anyone recommend a good one! Thanks!

YEP!!! Dr Debbie Basden @ Cleveland School Animal Hospital. Beside FL @ 4042. 662-7387.

Last year we found out Shelby (my avatar ;) ) had a tumor and she was the nicest person. She wasn't trying to *push* me into anything I wasn't ready for, she seemed to be genuinely concerned with my baby girl. Who BTW will be 16 on July 2nd!

I referrred KC to Dr Basden and she's just thrilled with her also!

My babies go to Clayton ANimal Hospital and I wouldn't trust them with anyone else! I have said it before...they send to be pricey compared to Stage Road where my sis goes, but I get my pennies worth! They have learned to deal with my over protectiveness!

THe four legged Peppercorns went there WEdnesday AM. The Dr. B was very good with her and with me. Seems Peppercorns pulled a mucle and need anti-inflamatory and pain pill. (Personally I think she was just jealous of all the similarr meds that Kiddo and I are taking after he accident) She was yelping and crying because it hurt so much. After Dr. B gave her the right meds she started feeling better by the next morning. THank you!!

Clayton Animal Hospital - 553-4601 (from memory!) - has my vote. They've been good to me and my fur babies, who have all had various serious maladies. VERY wonderful staff.

I just switched to Dr. Huff at Plantation Animal Hospital 359-9977. It's behind the Food Lion on 42 East. I live in the Cleveland area but it's worth the drive. They are very caring and they spend a lot of time with you.

Is this near the flowers plantation? Is it new?

Yes it's near Flowers. He's been in Clayton for about 4 years. He does not advertise, his practice has grown by word of mouth.

GREAT! Now I have no need to go into Smithfield. I was taking our dogs to the Johnston County Animal Hospital in Smithfield. They are great people, but good to know there is someone closer.

Recommend Dr. Sara Lash - she makes house calls!

I highly recommend Dr. Sara Lash. She is a vet that makes house calls. She and her assistant came to my home when a stray cat adopted us. Dr. Lash was very nice, and very professional.

Having 2 toddlers at home, it sure made it easier for her to come to my house, than to take the two little ones and a cat to a vet's office. Her web page is www.drsaralash.com

We had to give the cat away because as we discovered my kids were allergic to it! The kids are now both in school, and we've adopted a golden retriever/yellow lab pup. I took him to the vet beside Foodline at 40/42, and love them. It's Cleveland School Animal Hospital.

If you're looking for a mobile vet, Dr. Lash is the one to call. I like Sara because she's a no-holes-barred kinda person. She tells it like it is, lol...

They have/or had strange hours. I knew one of the vet techs that worked there, and wanted to take my babies there, but went to check them out, and realized that their hours would never work for me considering I work in Raleigh.

I think it was the no Saturday hours that kept me from going there... I heard he really is wonderful though.

Yep, love Dr Debbie and so does little Gracie - she is straight up and doesn't try to push you to buy or do unnecessary things. i told her that maybe it was inappropriate for me to ask since i am taking Gracie to the mobile to get spayed but i wanted some advice on how to keep a JRT calm after surgery. Dr Debbie responded that she didn't care where i took her as long as she was being taken care or and if there were any problems after the surgery to just give her a call and she could prescribe something to keep the little one calm so as not to burst her stitches. That really went a long way with me in knowing the type of person she is - she truly loves and cares about the animals and money is not what it is all about with her.

I may be a little bit late on this reply but we take both of our dogs to Wake Veterinary Hospital in Knightdale. Would not go anywhere else. Dr. Khady is wonderful!! They have 3 other Dr's who are just as good; we just got used to Dr. Khady.
Hope you find someone you like and takes care of your pet.

Clayton Animal Hospital has my vote also.

I would not trust S. Lash with my pet rock. Been there, done that, dog died.
