Try watching another news station...FOX rarely shows any good news. They like to stir the pot and get people upset.

Maybe I should have said that I can hardly read the news anymore. I was referring to the stories, not who was reporting them.

I purposely picked out the bad stories that involved children because those stories are so common these days... I mean it is, literally, every day news to hear such stuff now.

(The video story I had provided a link to was about a woman who gave beer to minors and had sex with teenage boys, but the link was changed and the last time I looked at it, it went to a video about the pet food recalls - which is also sad news, but not what I was referencing.)

Yeah...hearing the truth tends to stir up those who would rather put their hands over their ears and sing...LA LA LA

Bon voyage. And don't let the door hit you on the way out.

There's an old saying, "When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."

If all you look for (consciously or subconsciously) is the bad, that's all you will find. You have been posting bad news for a few months now. Personally I'm tired of opening a thread from you only to see that you found yet another news article that you feel you must let everyone here know about. You have convinced yourself that the World is a bad place and getting worse, and now your justifying it.

I have some news for you, "News" is, by definition, something that doesn't usually happen. When you see something on the news, it's because it's unusual or rare. You won't see a news article that says, "John Smith of Clayton gave flowers to Mary Jones of Garner today." Why? Because it's not unusual. Yes, you will see good news, but even those are rare instances, which is why it's news.

So, quit focusing on the bad stuff. Get out and smell the flowers. Enjoy the warm weather for the next couple of days before it gets chilly. Watch a movie, read a book, take a walk. Do something to get yourself away from the news.

You know, I'm gonna have to part hairs with you guys on this one.

Ready, you're right, the world is full of rotten people doing rotten things. I also hate to watch the news.

But Clif made an excellent point. If you look for bad, you'll find it. You've got to be willing to look around for the good stuff too.

Like coming home at the end of a hard day and watching my first born hold my newborn, and seeing the two laugh together.

Or the first blooms of Spring.......

Or the way my cats run to my feet almost tripping me, when I get home so they can be the first to say "hi Mom!".

The world isn't ALL bad. And I believe God wants us to enjoy what little time we have here. So try not to focus so much on the negative, and instead enjoy the blessings He gave you.

    :)

Well, I would. But I thought you might occassionally have something important to say.

But if you don't, then, I'll be happy to ignore them.
