 With all the lawsuits happening, I don't want to mention the store that this happened at. I will say that it was at a Big Box in White Oak in Garner. Today around 1P, I was getting into my car and there was a dog in the car next to mine. It was very very hot around this time. The dog was whimpering and scratching to get out. I went into the store and got a manager. I asked her if she would page the owner and tell them that it's to hot to keep their dog in the car. She said she would After waiting five minutes, I asked her what happened, she said that she called her supervisor, and they wont allow her to do it, because they don't want to "get involved"???? What would ya'll have done?
Should have called animal control from the store. Note the license plate vehicle type and color, and date time info. I've always felt taht the punishment should fit the crime, so that pet owners who do this should be made to do the same for the same amount of time. As for the store, are the initials Bee Jay? If so, I was there around the same time, and wish I'd have known. I'd have stood with you to complain, except that I'm a loudmouth, and do it well.
Okay.. I will do that next time. I just fear that the dog will perish before they get there. Actually, it wasn't at Bee Jay's. Maybe it was the same person going from one store to another? Was it a very sweet hound dog?
I did not see this. My mistake, as I was actually in between Staples, BB, and BJs. Regardless of where it was, I commend you for starting the dialogue. Please identify the gutless wonder's store, so I can be sure to mention this to the manager the next time I'm in there. "Didn't want to get involved", my fanny. Wonder what their level of civic duty is? Would they call for an apparent AMI or stroke? A car being broken into? A lost child? I wonder.
I've called the police one time, I couldn't be sure what store the driver of the car was in. I just hung around long enough to be sure they showed up and the owner of the vehicle came out. I didn't volunteer myself as the individual who called, but I was relieved to see the owner getting a good earful from the local police officer who showed up.
REMINDER Now that the weather is getting warmer....PLEASE do not leave your animals and children (I don't care if the kid is 10 years old and you will be back in 15 mins) in the car. Be responsible. BTW..I am taking my 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old daughters to the dentist. Wish me luck. I can hear them screaming in my head now. LOL Ro
