Demonination? That's a tough question for me to answer anymore. They all have a truth. My difficulty is to embrace one is to be seen by others to embrace all they espouse, both truth and fancy. To be faithful to the truth therefore means to be faithful to the fancy. I might be wrong, but I can't do that. I don't need to belong that badly to a demonination that I should have to listen to preaching that entails mingling error with truth.

I am full gospel. Yet to say that means to some that I embrace Charismania. I don't. only in the slightest. I believe in Pentecost. I believe what happened on the day of Pentecost is still vital for today and much needed as never before. I have seen it in action and full well know that god answers prayer. That automatically puts me at odds with most of all I come into contact with, especially on forums as this one who believe all that ended when the NT was canoned.

The bottom line is that I have come to realize that all have their starting point in understanding the scriptures, anchored to redemption. This is incomplete thinking that has inhibited us from seeing God's ultimate intention and that redemption was but a restoration plan for man to be brought back to it that he might continue his progress in becoming what God intended for man, for Christ, from HIS beginning. I, of course, know He had no beginning, however, we were there, wherever there is and whenever that was. The NT is full of explaining this for the one who is willing to view things from an eternal perspective; for Christ, not for man. For God, not for man.....and yet man benefits.

    I hope that helps.:)

  3. CLOTHES?

where in the bible does it say you have to dress up to go to church? If you do, here me out I am not saying that its wrong or anything that what you do. My beef is with people who say you have to dress up to be at church. Church is not about you me or a building its about connecting with God. And so what if my pastor doesnt stand out by wearing a 3 piece suit or anything like that. Last time i checked it wasnt about a man it was about God.

Then conduct yourself as if you were in His presence and not down the beach. Get my drift? Unless you don't think He is worthy. Perhaps you believe what He did for you is chump change. Is that it?

  6. ...

    Ormly-

How about Im sick and tired of you questioning my faith and questioning everyone on here's faith. Its one thing to talk about it but you assume alot.. and Im tired of reading this stuff and you putting everyone down like your holier than tho. Who are you to say what I think God did for me.. Im strong enough in my faith that i can wear whatever i want to church and I can worship just as good as the guy in a suit.. because guess what this may blow your mind but I give God my best all the time I give him my life I give him my heart I give him my everything and for you to say that i think what God did for me is chump change because i dont wear what you think is "Godly attire" you think God went to heal and preach to ppl and when he saw them he said WOAH your not wearing your best soo sorry its your turn to go to hell.. No he didnt care. That concept may be past your little feeble judging mind but God doesnt look on the outside... So what if some one cant afford to buy a suit for church? Or they destined for Hell ????? hmmm

Well... I'm done with this thread and here is my conclusion:

There is no perfect church. There is no perfect denomination. They're either too legalistic or too lax, too liberal or too conservative. Because they're ALL, churches as well as denominations, made up of imperfect people. BUT, the Bible instructs us in this...
So we must find a place to worship and fellowship together with other believers. Whether that means we're in our "Sunday best" or in jeans and t-shirts, I believe the Lord will lead His sheep as He sees fit, to the place where He wants us as individuals to worship. And I believe it is His job, not ours, to raise up and tear down His churches. So, even though we might not agree with everything a church or denomination does, we need to be very careful about trying to do the Lord's job for Him.

I wish I could say that you didn't speak volumes about your "church", however, no hard feelings. Whatever it takes to melt your butter.

ormly, you have come off in this thread as judgmental, narrow of vision, condescending and dismissive of others.

i wish i could say that you don't speak volumes about your brand of intolerance, however, no hard feelings. whatever it takes for you to feel superior

    Likewise Ormly.
I pasted Isaiah 64:6 straight from the NIV, so where did I misquote?.
    (a Jehovah's Witness)

Not at first, but not far into a discussion it becomes pretty apparent.

I don't have anything against you if you are a Jehovah's Witness. I just can't come into an agreement with your beliefs. I believe the Bible is the only source of truth about God. I believe in the Trinity. And most importantly, I believe that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ ...and nothing else. Asking for forgiveness, and receiving it by grace. No works. No fancy clothes. Just grace. That's it.

It's unfortunate that your intolerance can't handle the exposure to the light. It's too bad that you can't speak from a Biblical perspective that could help shed light on where it is you believe me wrong. No one has given reasons for my offense other than those from pride. That is quite evident from the 'froth spill' on these pages.
My intention was to get to think about what it is you believe and place your trust. I think I suceeded. At least you and I know what it is you don't believe. When He returns for His own, I hope I am wrong....But I don't think so.

Now if anyone would like to discuss the Bible? Perhaps there is someone here who actually reads their Bible?

........Good grief, is this the best you can do? You believe I'm a JW? You're more in trouble than I thought. Maybe it's your age? You must be a teeny bopper.

I wonder how many read their Bible in the original language instead of the translations, which would have to be a bit suspect given the inaccuracies of such translations.

17 pages of arguing about everything under the sun and of course there is no pat answer, or solution.

Get a grip - you will never get all of mankind, one county, or even this little discussion board, to agree about religion.

Practice what you preach, do unto others and turn the other cheek, as well as the page and let this subject rest.

Rather than jump on each other, pray - it's more productive than typing.
