Have you heard about how people are sabotaging the show? votefortheworst.com is being promoted by jerks such as Howard Stern to ruin the show. Simon has said that if Sanjaya wins, he will quit the show. If Simon goes, Idol goes (IMO.) Found out today that my BROTHER is participating in this, he is using dialidol.com software to vote about 1000 times each week for Sanjaya! :x He thinks it's funny.

Just wait y'all, payback is _______.

Real talent? You mean ones that can sing? Sure there are ones that can sing. Always have been. Problem with pop music and a majority of country for that matter is that these people are just hired singers. They dont write their own music, dont come up with the musical compositions...they just sing what people tell them to sing. Doesnt work for me. They get on interviews and whatnot and tell how they live for their music and such....palease....you live to have other people tell you what to sing. You are not an artist because you do not create.

Ratings, money and fame. The way I see it, American Idol isn't going anywhere until its officially played out. The producers would be fools to allow the show to be sabotaged. Simon Cowell would be a dummy to walk away. Its a current part of our TV culture and its not going away...no matter what Stern says or anybody else.

He himself is after those three things listed above and he's trying to evoke his audience. Ignore him and forget about dialing software. Fox, I'm sure, doesn't want anything happening to their ratings juggernaut.

Ken dear, I do not worship AI. To me, it is nothing more than a glorified talent contest. I call Howard Stern a jerk because of this:

If Howard Stern does not like watching American Idol, he is free to turn the channel. Instead he feels the need to ruin it for those of us who do enjoy watching it.

Ken, I'm upset with Howard Stern because he is using his platform to try to ruin a show (which is actually something decent that families can watch together) simply because he thinks it would be funny to do so. By doing that, he is acting like a jerk. THAT is all I'm saying about him. I have never tried to get him taken off the air (even though I think his show is vulgar and I would never listen to it.)

So, AI is responsible for what someone does before or after they are on the show? [Edited to add -- Which one are you talking about?
It is unfortunate that these woman got on the show, but AI booted one as soon as they found out about her and the other one couldn't sing and got herself canned (pun intended.) ]

Yes, I think AI is decent entertainment that families can watch together. Sure can't listen to the Howard Stern show together, now can you?

actually for a few seasons now active contestants have had a few of their nudie pics circulated for all to see.. but i don't really care much about that.

I agree that AI ruins music... Karaoke != talent; but then again they're not making brilliant singer-songwriters, their goal is to turn out as many faceless nameless mimics as they possibly can because faceless nameless mimics turn out the most cash.

Somehow I seriously doubt that Howard Stern is going to know what I'm calling him on here.

IMO Idol is pre-determined amongst the 3 judges. The popular vote means nothing in the end. They can tell you it does, but you'll never convince me. Not that I care as I think it and other "reality TV" belong in somewhere else, just not the airwaves. But networks found out how cheap it was to make a profit with RTV and chances are we'll never see another MASH, Cheers, Friends, Seinfeld or Everybody Loves Raymond.

Actually I hope for more shows like AI, the more that are on TV, the less TV I watch.

Given the time of year it is, if the TV is on, a baseball game should be seen on it :)

I for one am unable to sit still during a baseball game or NASCAR race. I would rather be in the stands. Just me though.

I used to work for CBS/Fox's reality show several years ago, I can tell you that most reality shows are fixed, in order to get good ratings and money from sponsors. I'm not going to be surprised about Sanyaja still being on the show.

    Believe me, I've been there......
