We have berber carpet in our bonus room, which is the kids play room. There is a seam going down the center of the room, and some of the threads have come undone. Our couch was there before, so I know the kiddos didn't pull it.

Before they can pull it, I was wondering if anyone knew how to re-weave the threads into the carpet, or could suggest a professional company who might do it.

    Thanks.

Berber is one continuous thread, which you probably already know. If it's just a little pull, maybe try gluing it back down, whatever you do, DON'T cut it! You may have to get someone from a carpet store to come back and re-seam it for you. I have Berber, have had it for the six years I've been in this house. LOVE it! But it does have a few drawbacks. I was told they wouldn't warranty it if there were pets in the house because their claws can pull it. My dear departed Sheltie didn't bother it though, and so far the cats haven't either.

My husband use to lay carpet before we moved here and he said that really the only thing you can do is glue it and he doubts that anyone can reweave it without messing it up. He said unfortunalty there really isn't much else you can do. The other thing is just cover it. He said berber does not stretch like other carpets do so you can't even cut and reseam it. Once it is cut in, it is cut in.

Call Laurel Lane. She did our carpet. It looks great and we have berber.

Blessed ~ my husband left to go to work, but when he gets home, I will ask him.

International Carpet in Raleigh has a guy who is great at patching in berber. I've seen him do it, you would never know it was done.... if he can do that, I think he's your man... I can't remember his name but just ask em for the installer who patches berber.
