The difference for me is the quantity I can buy. Sams was always just a little much. At BJ's I can buy a little less in bulk. Also, the prices on electronics have been better for me. Never tried the car center, etc. I have a mechanic for that. <mental note, oil change due> Frogger
Read the whole thread, if you go through the outside sales people you are guaranteed a $35 membership for 13 months at BJ's and if you renew before your next renewal date that $35 fee is all you will pay. If you originally signed up for the family plan and paid $45, then when your renewal comes due it will be $45 but you can change it by going through the salesman - that is what i did about 3 months ago and it has worked just great.
I just don't like the card checking and BJ's doesn't do it. Sometimes if I needed something for work and I myself couldn't go, some of my staff could go and pick the stuff up and didn't have to worry about being "carded" at BJ's. It was great. I went to COSTCO since it was closer to my job and they said that I couldn't do that there so not worth joining.
That is why they have differant memberships, like the business membership you can have several on there and they can shop for your business..but I know it's not for everyone.
Re: Tires from Costco, Sam's BJ's FWIW, All are NOT the best from the manufacture. When trying to by one of the same lettering from a tire store, I was told the lettering on the tire reveals that info. ..
Ugh, another attempt at free advertising. $100.00 says that dabatboy is the salesman. This fake thread/advertisement crap is really getting old. Hey batboy, could you please give us the phone number to contact you...errrr...that salesman? I'd like to add him to the "boycotted businesses" list. Thanks.
Anyone care if I create another screen name to promote my business?   Kidding
I need 2 new tires for my chev SUV. Does anyone know a good deal going on now...I called a few place but I thought I check Bj's out and I guess I have to renew my memebership. Ro
