What is the noise ordinance in JoC0

Discussion in 'Discussion Group' started by SayinWhatYa'llAreThinking, Apr 23, 2007.

  1. I live in a very small subdivision without an HOA.
There is 6 house total, and in one of those houses is a very disturbed person.
This person puts his music on at 5:30 Am and keeps in on all day (He has this huge boom box that he keeps on his driveway)
He turns it off around 1130 ish. He seems to be in the law, but it's driving us stir crazy!
We (the neighbors) met a few days ago, and were afraid to confront this person because of his temper.
If he's breaking the ordinance, we will have the Law come and pay a visit.
    Does anyone know? Much thanks

    Call the cops

  3. Were actually afraid. That's why we want to know if he's breaking any ordinance? I know that it doesn't make sense, but...
Does anyone know who I should call this morning to find out?
The Law or the County? If the County, does anyone know what department I should ask for?

I would call either the JoCo Sherrifs office (if you live outside the Clayton City limits), or the Clayton Police (if you're within the city limits) non-emergency or business #, and just ask. Anyone who answers the phone should be able to tell you, or atleast fine an answer for you. I'm sure it's a regular question they get asked.

The music thing comes into effect at 10:00 pm. Call the cops any ways . At least it will be documented. GOOD LUCK.... don't be scared!
If this guy knows you are all scared of him, he will most likely get worse.

It is still disturbing the peace. He can be asked to turn it down by the cops. Make sure you keep a paper trail.

Have you ever seen the kind of hole a 30-06 can make in a boom box?

    The JoCo Sheriff's non-Emergency # is 989-5000.

I have called a few times when cars were left (broken down?) at the Middle Creek Bridge overnight. Never an issue w/ calling that number.

SIDE NOTE: Do not ever "park" there .... someone in my family will call the Sheriff and you will be asked to "Move Along".

  11. Thank you everyone.
I just called the sheriff office and I think I spoke with a captain.
He said that the ordinance is from 11-7
BUT... he said if this person is playing the music loud and aggravating, I should have a deputy come out.
Now, I just need to talk with my neighbors. I'm sure that this man will be issued a citation due to the fact that it's blaring and on all day, everyday, even in the pouring rain.
We are just a community of divorced/widowed/handicapped woman.
There is not one man living in any of the homes, and we are all just scared.
Let me see what they say.
    Thank you all so much.

ps.. I think we have the best sheriff department anywhere.
They are always nice, friendly and compassionate
    .
