Anyone have any comments about Sweetwater's in Selma? Good food, courteous and prompt service, etc?
We planned to go there for dinner in the near future with friends. I called and asked if they "accepted reservations for dinner"? The gentleman that answered advised " they take reservations over at the Indian Reservation".
Personally I did not think this was funny at all. I hope they have a good business because this smart a$$ response probably cost them a couple of hundred dollars in business. In my opinion this is no way to respond to a potential customers question.

Cheese cake is very good and so was the service. We have been 3 times and only gotten cheesecake and it was also later in the evening so they were never that busy.

Been once, not overly impressed. Would visit again if I'm in Selma and McDonalds happens to be closed.

Went there once in the spring when my sister was in town an wanted to go to the antique shops. We only got a bowl of soup( which was fine)
and the cheese cake ( which was great) Service was good and they were busy that day. I will go back just not that direction often. The reservation comment was not the best joke  the cheese cake is better than their humor.

I've been a few times. I'm not in that area very much. I love the shrimp and grits. Service was good. Haven't tried the cheesecake.

I decided to overlook the comment that I received when I called about reservations and we had dinner at Sweetwater's last night with some friends. This food was very good and our service was prompt and courteous. The entrees that our party tried were fried catfish, grilled salmon and shrimp & grits. The shrimp, sausage & grits was in a bowl with a little too much broth but the flavor was excellent. Fried catfish was better than Neptune's. Broiled salmon was not overcooked. Cheesecake for desert sealed the deal for us. We all agreed we will return.

Sweetwater's reopened under new management on March 5. They have renovated the building, improved the menu and hired some great cooks. The new owner seems genuinely committed to making this a great dining establishment. Several of us ate there this week and we were impressed with the food, the service, the entertainment and the personal attention of management. If you haven't tried this place lately, you haven't tried this place.

Might be legit but it looks like someone is trying to BS us again. Just joined today and the first thing I want to tell you about is the new management????

I agree. Maybe some of our regular posters have been to Sweetwater's under the new management.
