Wher to take used motor oil

Anywhere local I can take used motor oil for recycling?

 

don't all the jiffy lube type places take it these days?

 

The Johnston County dump sites, including satellite sites, but you probably need a sticker.

 

Advance and Auto Zone take it.

 

What KD said! I take may used oil to any of the parts houses.

 

I know some tree stumps that will take it to.

 

That ought to be good for the environment. Our children thank you.

 

How about dumping it down by the river? I hear a few people living in a van can help you with the situation.

You can dump used motor oil, batteries, tires, & all the recycling without a TRASH STICKER.

Or so I was told a year ago.

Only trash required "the sticker".

Don't know the answer, but that would certainly make sense. These items might be tossed in the woods by some inconsiderate idiot rather than responsibly recycled.

 

Good to know, I have a truck full of cardboard I didn't know where to put.

 

Made the trip into town..(funny,sounds like a horse and buggy thing of several day's duration) and "donated" to the kind folks at Advance Auto. Thanks for all the responses.

 

We might all wish we still had horse and buggys if the price of gas keeps going up!

 

In purely economics terms, the demand versus supply has not yet reached its equilibrium. Plainly speaking, the price is just not painful enough for most of us to modify our habits.

 

Honeycutt Transmission in south Raleigh does that.

 

That is how it stands right now.

 

Sometimes they will tell you different, but it is still free to recycle.
