You certainly aren't suggesting that the owners of the hotel don't have a right to put (or not put) what ever legal reading material they choose in their rooms, are you? I must say, though, that the heading of this thread made it look like liberals were going from hotel to hotel and swapping out the Bible for Mr. Gore's book. Nice propaganda ploy. Goebbels would have been proud.
Clif, I am with you on this. I read the whole article and did not see anything about someone removing a bible. Snapper how did you come to that conclusion? Are you saying that there aren't any conservatives that believe in human caused global warming or that liberals are the only ones bringing the issue up? Are you trying to make the unsupported point that liberals are godless or that there are no conservative atheists? In short what is your agenda?
It would not be as sensational if he used the true word that Environmentalists were removing Bible's and putting in Mr. Gore's book.
Whether it's Liberals or environmentalists, the fact remains that it's their hotels and they have the right to put (or not put) what ever books in their rooms they want. And, as I said (and the article didn't say), no one is roaming from hotel to hotel and removing Bibles and replacing them with "An Inconvenient Truth".
I don't think anyone is "removing" Bibles. These are a couple of new, environmentally friendly hotels and they are choosing to place copies of Al Gore's book in the rooms. I do not see anywhere in the article that they would refuse to allow the Gideons to also place Bibles in the rooms. You know that's normally how they get there. The article goes on for several more paragraphs about "green" building.
Since we're only allowed one or two squares of TP, it's a good thing they're putting Gore's book in the rooms. The pages'll give me something to make up the difference with.
I wouldn't have to worry about it myself. It's not the kind of place I would intentionally check in to.
If they want to be truely ecologically correct they should combine the two to save paper and call it "The Gorble"
I found this somewhat amusing. That one of the chains mentioned, Marriott, typically places The Book of Mormons in the rooms alongside the bible. One of my Southern Baptist coworkers cannot sleep with the book in the same room as him. So he places it outside the door whenever he has to use one of those evil Mormon hotels.
No agenda? There was nothing in the article about liberals. Yes, you had an agenda and yes, you should write for the Enquirer. God knows, you bought me and Clif together on the same side though, so that is amazing in and of itself.
