Just finished reading and re-reading --searching the c3 -Mattfry.com website. I read most all the "cotton candy" hopla I didn't find the name of Jesus Christ mentioned anywhere which only fortifies my opinion that it isn't about Him at all. I saw the Panthers and the Hurricanes avatars and some surfer guy and few others proclaiming something to be "awesome", but I can't find what the "awesomeness" is to be about that could possibly change anyone's life.. The whole thing reads like a grade school "pep rally" ... for money. I guess as the building nears completion the "pep rally" programs will only intensify because the note will be due. I also visited their recommended websites and find nothing "awesome" there either. A lot of "self-help" books offered up to be sure and conference promotions that will have one buying more books about "sucking it up". If Matt Fry is converting anyone I have to ask what is he converting them to? Perhaps someone can help me out here? Since what they all are promoting has nothing much to do with Jesus Christ, what are these "churches" promoting? I have also noticed that the UMC on Amelia Church rd. is following suit, hooking up their carriage to the same 'bubble gum" horses. Interesting. Orm
Maybe they are promoting ... be a nice person, be good to your neighbors, don't kill people, don't steal, be a good husband/wife/kid etc... Summary: JUST BE A GOOD PERSON!
That's all good if what you are doing is a social thing to improve peoples lives so they get along with their wife or neighbor but church is to be about Jesus Christ; that a person be brought into knowledge of why He was crucified and what God is after in the one who understands that message. C3 doesn't go there in it's preaching/teaching. It doesn't scratch the surface nor do any their invitees from other churches related to them.
Good. I must have missed it/them. That must mean you read the website. In what regard was Jesus mentioned?
Hey Wormly.... What is your problem? C3 is preaching the message, right? Isn't that what Jesus wanted? :? Didn't he say "Be like the lillies of the field" not "Be like me"? What Would Jesus Do? Well, I don't think he would start multiple threads on a community message board, trashing area churches because they didn't drop his name enough and focused more on his message.
I don't believe in hell as a physical place where people go after this life. I don't believe in an angry, punishing God. So, you're probably preaching to the wrong person. We are all in hell right now.
An advanced Google search of the site C3.org (not MattFry.com) shows 18 pages that reference "Jesus". http://thedream.c3church.org/page/blog?C3DREAM=d7cb50aee8a22dade4ff3926706fd079 "God is doing amazing things at C3! Just in the first quarter of this year we've seen 81 people give their life to Jesus Christ."
Yes it does, even on my days off I must work to stamp out ignorance. Oh well, no rest for the wicked!!
This is an idea I have problems with too. I like Billy Graham, but I'm not even sure if I agree with him on this issue. How could God create people ...who never asked to be created ...knowing that some of them would suffer in Hell. That is unjust.
And you go to c3? I should think that that question would have been answered by now. If it wasn't for the "cotton Candy" it probably would have been.
