My wife and I thought about going tomorrow. Would you recommend it? What should we make sure we see or do?

http://www.downtownsmithfield.com/events.html That has the schedule of what is going on tomorrow.

We had a good time, I wasn't overly impressed, but it was nice. I think my 2 yr old had the best time out of all of us. She went on a pony ride, watched a puppet show, and danced to one of the bands playing. The two 9 yr olds I had with me got a little bored. There are rides there, but they are those inflatable things, not real rides. There are lots of craft tents and raffles, oh, and they have a petting zoo. By the 'Christian music stage', they have free cotton candy and popcorn. That is the only free stuff there! lol I had the most fun watching my kids have fun. It's worth checking it out. :)

Thanks for the prompt reply Missy. Wife thinks there'll be bluegrass or country music there and a neighbor said someone told them to checkout a garden center in Smithfield. She think's they called it Wayne's, near the outlets on 95. We've been looking for rose bushes, (shrub roses) but haven't been able to find them.

LOL there were goats, but there was a camel in there and maybe something else, not sure, I didn't really look.
Hey, if you want a goat, pm Shane, he has the fainting goats!
I entered a duck in the Relay For Life duck race, wish me luck! I also bought a raffle tix for a Harley. WTH would I do with a Harley?? lol

YW! They had bluegrass and country music today, so I'm sure they'll have it tomorrow too. Tonight was Daryl Singletary and Jeff Carson in concert, for free. I wanted to go, but I've been dealing w/ a headache all day, there was no way I could have stayed there all day and tonight too.

I know which garden center you are talking about, it's after the outlets, and Wayne's sounds right.

Wait, a higher source tells me it's Dewayne's!

It's DeWayne's, out by the Pottery, they have everything! From Smithfield, just take Market St. toward I-95, then turn left just before you get to 95. Go past all the outlets, almost to hwy 70, and you'll see it on your left. I love that place, I could spend tons of money there. Their prices are reasonable, they just have so many things I would love to buy, that's my problem!

Ooohhh!!! Sounds just like my kind of place. I love plants and tomorrow's my birthday! Hubby(Lawnranger)is watching a movie in the den, should I warn him or just make sure to take the checkbook? Tee hee!!! I haven't really explored Smithfield but I really appreciate that it's downtown is still vital and thriving. So many small NC downtowns are now history! So sad!

Thanks everyone for the information and directions ! It was a straight shot down 70 to DeWayne's. Didn't have any problem finding it. So many plants, so little time! Didn't even make it inside to see the gifts. Took me awhile to select the roses. They are beautiful! Can't wait to go back! We wanted to eat at Holt's BBQ but they were closed. Heard they had good seafood as well as BBQ. Missed the festival too! It was too windy to stay outside anymore but there's always next year!
