Can we get a life for the folks who have keyboard diarrhea and post three in a row without any relevance to the thread? Your last three posts: 1) I have that page bookmarked, a good reference and a good read on a subject that interestes me. 2) What the 7734 (thanks Clif) does a screen shot of Novell have anything to do with evolution? 3) See non-indexed comment above
Harvey, as long as it gets his post counts higher I don't think he gives a "Hell" what we think or cares about relevance.
http://www.ruralheritage.com/mule_paddock/mule_compare.htm Reproduction—The donkey is more prepotent [high in its ability to transmit certain characteristics to its offspring] but less fertile than the horse. It has 50% to 60% conception rate, compared to the horse's average of 60% to 65%. The conception rate for mares carrying mule foals is about same as for horse foals, but for jennets carrying hinny foals the rate drops to about 25%. Compared to a gestation period of 11 months for the horse, the donkey's gestation period averages 12 months, but may vary between 11 and 14 months. The gestation period for a hybrid foal is usually intermediate between the parent species. Production of twins, although rare, is more frequent among donkeys than among horses. The mule is a sterile hybrid, yet occasionally a mare mule will be fertile. The difference between the numbers of chromosomes in the cells of the donkey (62 chromosomes; 31 pairs) and the horse (64 chromosomes; 32 pairs) results in a mule or hinny with 63 chromosomes. This odd number is responsible for mule's sterility—the donkey and horse chromosomes are unable to form matched pairs during the early stages of conception, resulting in the death of the reproductive cells.
bump Behind in my reading and just discovered this interesting thread. Hope that it's not going to fade so soon. (Terrific links! I'm a strong proponent of continuing education.)
So you think getting my post count is my top mission??? DO you realize how stupid that sounds Hugh?? LOL I just blabber all the time. I haven't paid any attention to it. Come on you are a smart person.
Harvey's last three quotes... Dang I must be intelligent since I put words together so well. I am such an intellectual. Dang I am an intellectual. Wish other people were intellectually sound like me.
Some other links on either the Mars NASA thread or the new Pastor thread where Ormly is "refuting" evolution.
Harvey there is no comparison. I tend to not make myself out to be something I am not. Let me know when you want to compare real brain power. Smugness is not popular except on boards like this. So rock on!!
Let's see, in the GOP Presidential primary, so far we have 3 that don't believe in the possibility of evolution and one that believes his holy underwear protects him. Next....
Hey, if you do not want to appear intellectual at all that's your perogative. You're doing a good job of it. If the big words I use give you trouble, just ask me to re-word it for you. I can dumb it down. By your login, I deduce that you work as a higher level systems admin or something like it. So if you consider brain power the ability to look at a network diagram and/or decipher code, you probably have me there. However, if looking like a moron on a dicussion board is any indication of brain power then you're not doing yourself any favors. So tell me, Big Brain, how would you suggest we compare brain power?
