Since they are violating the law I do not see where you could get in trouble for removing the litter.

A pickup truck and about 5 mintures and you could have it all gone. And i don't think anyone would stop you, and you might get some help.

T4T, you have an idea. We should get a small group together, go to the most popular places and clean up the corners! I'm sure the businesses would let us use their dumpsters.

Businesses can have the signs up for 30 days, within city limits, no limit outside city limits; unless it's for real estate, then no limit.

Pulling up signs that aren't yours and don't violate sign ordances, then illegal dumping....

If the signs are in the state Right-of-Way than they are posted illegally.

Then the city departments that oversee signs in Clayton and F-V were lying to me.

    G.S. 136.32

It is illegal and people should be punished!

So. I will do it. Trashing up our area.

I will steal the signs because they are not mine, then I will dump them in Johnston county dump. Whatcha gonna do, tell? I for one am sick and tired of seeing all the advertising and would love to take every last one of them down.

You must have a sign out there.

i don't see how 136.32 applies... that talks about signs that pretend to be street signs, and I've never seen anyone advertise like that... unless maybe my eyes aren't open that well.

Unfortunately this is somewhat the same as people who speed. There is just too many to prosecute. It would be nice if the state would impose fines for the signs instead.

    Incorporate.

Sorry but have to disagree. Your answer to people violating the law is to incorporate so that we can pay more and have a police force to enforce it. Why not just demand the county enforce it. The county commissioner's are trying to be aggressive about it. I am sure they would appreciate any comments you may have in regards to this matter.

I have all but given up on the County commissioners being aggressive on anything. Johnston County does not know the meaning of progressive leadership.

The County can't enforce it. They don't have the resources. That is why the crap is still there and never goes anywhere.
