Just curious, as gas prices continue to climb, do you think it'll make a difference in how you drive? You know, number of trips you take...to Mall Wart, or where ever?

What about car-pooling and your commute to work? Vacations?
    Type of automobile you purchase?

    What ya think?

It will not change anything about how much I drive or how many times I go to Target!!! I have a beach house and I go every weekend, and even if I have to eat oodles of noodles while I am there, nothing will keep me from going every weekend from Easter till the first football game. I live at 40/42 and work in Raleigh at NCSU, and I will continue to make the trek....

hmmmm, am wondering if 'I don't have any gas money' falls under vacation or sick leave....... =)

yes, it probably will, I accepted a job with a low salary and a small commute, as opposed to not working. Gas goes that high I won't be doing it, all my salary will go to fuel costs.

Well i figure my DH will just have to get used to riding in my "matchbox car" as he calls it and his truck will sit parked even more than it does now. We already canceled one trip due to the high costs of driving because we would have had to use his truck for the space needed.

It's not just the change in driving habits that everyone will make, but their choice in what they buy at the grocery store as well, gas price increases will be reflected in higher grocery bills etc. and the list goes on. Now I really do wish I'd gotten the garden planted earlier.

Auto alone, probably not till it comes closer to $12.00 a gallon. Air travel probably at about $8.00 a gallon.

Considering that adjusted for inflation, gas is cheaper than in the eighties.... and our cars have better gas mileage than cars from that era.....

i might lower the useless BS trips around town for no real reason. but i will not stop driving. as far as driving on vacations? nope, still gonna go. my car gets 30mpg+, not to damn bad for a 5 year old car with 100k on it. keep the tires inflated properly and the car maintained.

Remember the old Honda CRX? It used to get as good a gas mileage as a hybrid's actuall mileage does today.....

No, it will not effect my day to day life, or vacations, etc. I'll just have to adjust my budget to accommodate.
