Amnesty for illegals = done deal!

So Congress is going to come up with all sorts of penalties for illegals. Yeah I'll bet they are just shaking in their shoes. Let's see, they obey all the laws now so we can be sure they will follow the new ones. I have to ask, what makes politicians and people believe that another bloated federal bureaucracy is going to be any more effective that any of the other countless, useless federal employees or programs. If you want to get rid of them, we need to make it inhospitable for them to be here. Cut off all federal money for illegals. School, medical, welfare food stamps etc. Penalize employers who hire them. Make it difficult to ship money back to la familia in the old country. Build a F****ing WALL!

If they can't get paid, can't leech off the taxpayers,can't support their country with our Western Union payments and can't get in they will quit coming. Let Latin America support them for once.

you didn't go far enough....why not sanction Mexico, as I'm sure that the majority of the illegals enter from Mexico. They may not all be Mexicans, but they traverse that country at some point.

Build a NS Wall...40 ft high, throw in some hungry gators near the base, and allow hunters to sight in and engage anyone climbing over it.

Tawii..I agree with your post re: the video. All I saw was someone doing his civic duty, similar to neighborhood committees in yellow slickers taking back their streets. What he should have done is called the ICE via cell before he got there, so they could have had an appropriate reception and deportation. Give 'em a bottle of water, and a MRE and put their 4th POCs over the border.

 

So, I'll crack open a can of worms here...

I'm pretty sure that two of my ancestors snuck aboard a boat during the potato famine. Before long, gave birth to what was a great, great, great, grandma (or something). Record keeping what is was back then, no one noticed since they worked hard and paid the bills, but I'm pretty sure it would be considered illegal by today's standards.

Am I lumped into all of these "illegals"? Why or why not?

I had the same experience, but it wasn't a mexican family. No seat belts, no car seat, no sense. If I would have just had my phone.

 

This amnesty bill is not done yet. Can not wait until the votes becomes recorded. I want to see which office holders violate their oath.

I believe that the compromise today allowed the continued destruction of the Constitution and is certainly legitimizing enemies and criminals.

We just passed a law in NC that makes obtaining an NC registration for your car and living in another state to reduce your insurance costs a felony. Yet illegals are fabricating SSN's and birth certificates every day. Where's the logic in that?

 

The logic is simple:

Everyone else = Poor, downtrodded souls who have been opressed by the evil racist scum and who should have prosperity handed to them on a silver platter.

Shakey. you forget the Republicans have had a major hand in this. Remember the Bush Administration has been pushing for this since day 1. Actually it is one of the few things I agree with the Bush Administration on.

 

You are absolutely right Hugh, which is why I'm no great fan of Pres. Bush either. I'm somewhat divided on this issue, though. Believe me, if I were in their shoes I would be high-tailing it for America also. On the other more important hand, these folks are breaking the law, pure and simple. President Bush and congress have completely abandoned our borders and in fact are pushing for this super highway deal to let trucks from Mexico roam our highways unabated. If that happens, you just know that they'll be carrying illegals across the border along with their freight. It's an udder disaster waiting to happen but our politicians don't give a damn. All they want to do is line their pockets. One of the other posters brought up the movie "The Distinguished Gentleman" with Eddie Murphy. It shows just how corrupt our government is and I think all 12th grade government students should watch it.

 

As do many other liberals. And that's a glaring sign that its a stupid idea. Immigrants will eventually be allowed to vote, so if we can't control our borders, we don't really have a country. Liberals have the most to gain because they love to play Robin Hood.

Also, I just reread some of these posts. It seems a little unclear to some people that there can be Latinos here that are legal immigrants. Just because someone is a hard working Hispanic, driving a car, doesn't mean they are illegal.

Why yes I think what we did in 1986 was wrong. I do not advocate a foreign invasion and forgiveness for breaking our laws. Fortunately people much smarter than me feel the same way and we may just have a chance to get the country righted. Please view a statesman's opinion on the issue.
