It amazes me how people can take one thing and turn it into something totally different. Bullying should be stopped period. No matter who is doing the bullying or to whom they are doing it to. Some kids just are mean and nasty to everyone they come in contact with no matter sex, race, religion or sexual perference. The bullying has to stop!!!!! All those idiots with their own agenda should SHUT UP unless someone they know and care for has been bullied or they themselves have been on the end of bullying.
I agree 100% !! A bully is a bully period. Who cares what reason the bully has. If you are bullying, then you should be punished. Those idiots most likely have never dealt with bullying first hand , so they don't even know what they are dealing with.
Isn't this a fine piece of legislation? :evil: This bill does nothing but further cause problems for those kids who are most likely to be bullied....those who are smaller than their peers, overweight, academically inclined, or different in other unlisted ways. In other words, those most bullied aren't on the list. By specifically listing the traits of potential "victims", all this will do is "disqualify" those who aren't specifically mentioned. Just as the school administrators now take it upon themselves to determine that minority children using racial taunts against white children isn't "racism" simply because there are no special interest groups that speak out against it...they will use the lack of a particular child fitting this "list", as reason to dismiss the claim that that child is bullied. Bullying is bullying. No child...I repeat...NO CHILD is more worthy of protection from bullying than any other child. Instead of concentrating on creating a pre-determined list of who is and isn't protected...lawmakers should instead spend their time: Creating a list of the behaviors that actually make up bullying so there is no way school administrators can dismiss the behavior and say "its just kids being kids" Create a plan to punish the perpetrators sufficiently to send a message that works to stop it.
