If they fail, they retest. If they don't pass EOG's a failing grade can be contested if they show growth from the beginning of the year to the end is my understanding.
they only 'get promoted anyway' if they have been retained prior. They get to re-take it if they fail and then are placed in remediation the next grade year.
You're fighting a losing battle on here GG. I'd wager most of the people that post here are transplants or either they've lived here for a few years and now consider theirselves southerners. They have no idea who Carlie Cobb was nor do they remember a time when there was nothing at 40/42. They should go to the Junction to have a taste of what Johnston County used to be about (and still is in some areas ).
I remember when 40/42 was nothing lol I rember when if you wanted to go to wal-mart you went to smithfield not clayton. I remember instead of mcdonalds it was the Village (miss the village best milkshakes in the world)wish ole miss dafney would have kept it open dairy queen sucks!
So, either you're from Johnston Count (or, specifically from 40/42) or you're a yankee. Some people's children!
what a flawed system! Johnny can not do third grade work, but let us promote him to fourth grade and spend extra money to teach him third grade work while he is missing third grade work.
I'm not sure how you gathered that from my post, but comprehend it as you please. I could care less if you're from NY or Cali, the end result is the same.
so i see! its ok bc i know who i am, what i do, how old i am and where i am ORIGINALLY from. unlike some people on here!
I am a product of the southern educational system......what is a homophone yankee......and why ya have to use big words....you think we slow?
not going there.....but definitely side with Ken on this issue....Goes against my norm but how about you take his place on the bus to Jersey
Wow! Thank you, thank you someone on here finally gets it! Your and You're are my pet peeves! I hate it when people use your instead or you're! I've seen so many posts on here and hear it all the time. I even saw a local business had their advertising on the back of a big yellow humvee (not sure of that spelling so forgive me if I'm wrong) that said "When your in trouble, give us a call...or something like that. I didn't get past the your to finish reading it! I know it may be silly to some, but it grates on my nerves to hear and see it spelled wrong and used in the wrong context. Heck, I've even seen teachers write it wrong on a huge poster that was given to a retiring principal so how can we expect children to get it right if teachers and adults don't!
Zoo has wayyyy too many friends on here to start down that road with her. YOu have already made a name for yourself and you have been a member for how long? So, maybe instead of telling everyone else to go home, you should find a new playground to play in instead of this one. I usually don't get involved with the moaning and groaning, but you are acting like a 2 year-old, spoiled brat.
