    Shoe Show? Cato?

Can't we just get a real Dollar Tree without the Walmart?

I just do not believe this to be true. Do you personally know any of our Commissioners? To suggest this of our County Commissioners is way off.
I totally disagree with your accusations.

While accusations of bribery may be stretching it a bit, the commissioners never seem to bother listening to citizens. They really do seem to bow to developers and have little regard for good planning.

However, one of the commissioners is president of a lumber company and another works for a law firm known to represent that lumber company on many occasions. A lumber company has a lot to lose if hundreds of subdivisions are not approved each month.

Not listening to citizens is far different than "lining pockets".
We get to voice our dissatisfaction in the voting booth.
The poster accused our Commissiones of accepting bribes. I believe you should have facts before going to that extreme.

Very few of you understand the development/approval process.

Oh, but I think we do..... I've seen it, and been involved in it.

And yes, cash does change hands under the table on occasion.

I have heard "rumors" that they are going to convert the Walmart in F-V into a Sam's club once this store is built.

Okay, a while back I heard from someone who lives in Fuquay that "they" were planning on closing the Walmart there, but I couldn't believe it since that place is always PACKED. Converting it to a Sam's would make sense I guess, since there is only one Sam's Club in the area... but wouldn't it make more sense to put a Sam's at 40/42, since there is already a Walmart in Clayton, and leave the Fuquay Walmart alone -- so that the Walmarts would at least be somewhat spaced out? :?

Funny ready! Not to mention, it has very little to do with making sense. Ever been trapped in the parking lot of that dreadful F-V store? Same guy must also case out areas for new stores!

If you READ my comment, then you would see, I was commenting on someone else making the JOKE of pockets getting lined.....simmer down. It was only mentioned both times 'in jest'. I know Wal Mart and local politics seem like the same topic and have the same relevance, but they don't.

I've heard that dozens of times, too, but I confirmed with Wal-Mart and Sam's Club managers that will not happen. At the Wal-Mart, they've already remodeled themselves out of being able to make it a Sam's Club (not that they were ever considering it). It's just one of those rumors. I think it was started by the people that are building a Six Flags near here...
