I have a Bissell rug shampooer that doesn't spray water. The vacuum part works, and it will spray shampoo, just not water. It has separate tanks, and mixes the water and shampoo as it sprays, but it doesn't spray water any more. Anybody know how to fix that, for a reasonable price? Or should I just put it on JoCo Freecycle? Thanks! Pat
I'm glad you asked this question. I recently had the same problem with the Bissell Pro Heat. I wish I had something to help you but we never got ours to work. I have been meaning to contact bissell about it but you need to have your serial number and model number. Of course I don't have them with me when I think about it and I don't remember to look when I am at home. I did find some info at www.bissell.com but nothing helped with our machine. I am going to try to remember to get those numbers so I can contact bissell. I hate to just toss it; it was so handy for quick spot cleaning. Hope you get yours to work.
It could be build up from hard water much like you would see in a steam iron. If you put some vinegar in the water tank it might clean out the obstruction. There are more "robust" solutions such as muriatic acid that would work faster and maybe better but I would not suggest them as a first choice.
Get some of the CLR from one of the hardware stores and run it through the water side. It should clear up any cloggs or other mineral deposits.
Oh, yeah, I'll have to call him right away! Maybe he can take a few power tools off my hands, too!
Did you get it fixed? I will take a look at it for you if it is still broken. I figure you can consider it repentance.
No, I haven't taken it apart yet. I would really appreciate your taking a look at it for me. PM me to make arrangements. Thanks.
