All of you liberal Dems know it is the truth. Don't fight it. Just admit it. No need to debate a fact.
Why only "wind down", why not just leave? You know as well as I do that telling the enemy that we are going to leave in a few months does more harm to the troops than just pulling them out immediately. The timeline is the direction. Then why not end it? They don't need approval from anybody to declare war nor to end war.
It gives them the chance to fix as much as they can before they leave. Really? That is something I do not know. It could do that or it could work just the opposite. That is an odd definition of direction since it gives only a warning to prepare for withdrawl, but that is a fairly common happening in some discussions. Telling them to leave or go in the first place would not have been "direction" but telling them to prepare to leave is .... There is no war is there? We have troops engaged in peace keeping duties now, right?
Couldn't we pull ALL of the forces out?? Let me finish. Moving them out of every single city. Move to a strategic location to where it appears we have left. Wouldn't this confuse the insurgents. Actually fool them into celebration in the streets? Then we can attack while in parade. Just a thought.
Oh yeah? How much can they fix in six months or a year? Especially when there is no incentive for us to do anything but pack in preparation for leaving? That all depends on the reason for the fighting. If it's a civil war, there's no reason for them to quit just because we leave. In fact there's all the more reason to hold off and stockpile while we're moving out. That, of course, is if we're talking about a civil war, which the dems keep chanting.
I would think 6 to 12 times that which can be fixed in a month, but that is just a guess. What incentive is there to stay and perform target duty? No, but it does give the government more time to prepare as well. You know the one we destroyed and are supposed to have rebuilt by now. Which would be better of our troops, but not the Iraqis though. Similar but more complex than a simple civil war, IMO.
