Why does my new NC Drivers License have a hologram of all of North America on the back? This includes Central America as well. I don't own a tin foil hat-I'm just curious.
Now I'm jealous. I just got mine renewed in January, and I don't have a hologram on the back. The back of mine kind of looks like a bar code, only different. I do have a hologram of an airplane on the front, though. Also, they made me take my glasses off! I doubt anyone outside my immediate family has ever seen me without my glasses!

Thanks for the warning. Guess I'll wear my contacts when I renew. Gotta' get mine before my birthday on July 30th this year! Thankfully, I'll only have to do the eye test and road signs test! Still not looking forward to that lovely picture they manage to take!
Oh, the pictures are horrible now. They won't let you smile and they take a very close up of only your head, so you look like you have this big ol' head and no neck. Lovely.
Just got mine not too long ago, as well. I aced all the 12 signs, including the four blank ones. I, too was wondering about the hologram like you would see on a credit card. The pictures are horrible to say the least just as described. On my pic, one eye looks like its a completely different color...like David Bowie. At least I don't have to get mine renewed again for 8 years.
They also make eyeglass wearers remove their frames. So that close-up mug shot turns out even worse as the eyeballs have no time to adjust!
No, they're the ones you're supposed to know by shape - RR crossing, stop, no passing, school crossing, yield, oops, that's more than 4, but you get the idea!
I know what you mean - I'm sure I sounded like a complete idiot when I was taking the sign test last month! :lol:
