There is a logical order to the line of questioning. Why ask for food stamp info when you are chatting it up on a board? Seems rather stupid to me.

Maybe she was taking a break in between filling out online job applications?

Nah...She was looking for sympathy. Why ask a board of people about Food Stamps. Shutup and save your 19.95 a month and buy some cherios.

The problem is that people want to know TOO MUCH INFO on others instead of just answering a question...........Those are the ones that need to get a grip. I think it's called being....NOSEY. ;) If she wanted to discuss other areas of her finances, she would have brought it up. She did not. And there was no call for anyone else to do so. Why dig deeper? The purpose it would serve would be?........ :? And what, pray tell, would you do about it anyway??? NOT A DERN THING.

It's called showing a little respect for someone's privacy. SHE did not open any doors for discussion about her business. OTHERS DID SO FOR HER BECAUSE THEY ARE NOSEY. PERIOD.

I work as a paralegal for a law firm. Sometimes clients ask questions or write things down that may strike me as interesting or like "OOO I wonder wha that was all about." But if it does not pertain to the business at hand, I do not address it. Same should be in everyday life, people. She wanted answers about food stamps, not to be interrogated about what she owned. It's presumptuous and very analytical.

Int he words of my sister-in-law now in heaven, "Stay out of people's koolaid. Especially when you don't even know the flavor."

Bingo. People ask for people's opinions on the internet but they never seem to like the answer... in which case, WHY DID YOU ASK?

Did you think about this before you posted it??? Someone is asking on a board about HOW TO inquire on FOOD STAMPS that are LATE. Why in the flying donkey dung would you do that if you didn't want people to react or ask questions?

"It's presumptuous and very analytical." You dang skippy it is!!

She asked about food stamps and a receipt date!!! Do you go into DSS and observe all the people down there too? So, if I get on here and ask about...oh let's say.........medicaid. Are ya'll gonna want who I work with and the insurance company name too????? Sorry!!!!!! none of your business. That's how stupid that is.

Well, quite frankly, I suppose I am not as nosey as others. I would have told her to keep trying her caseworker or go to the caseworker's supervisor and see what can be done from there. Done..Period.. Case closed. Pretty simple, huh???

I have, or anyone else, NO RIGHT to question anything else about it. She did not ask for a lecture or an interrogation. PEOPLE REACT AND ASK FURHTER QUESTIONS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOSEY. Or judgmental in some cases.

    Sorry, folks!! It's the truth!

You know, here's the way I see it. It's kinda like voting. If you vote, you have a right to complain if they President does something stupid that you don't agree with, because you voted.

I pay taxes, so I have a right to comment if I think the system, that my taxes fund, is being abused. If I didn't work and pay taxes, then it would be none of my business.

I agree 100%, Jennifer. I do, honest. I just feel like people go to far in these forums in their questioning. What if this woman is at her wit's end with this problem and she is doing all she can to feed her kids and she's got people she doesn't even know questioning her BEYOND what they really need to know? Most people don't "enjoy" the fact they are on welfare. Being interrogated, so to speak about it only adds to their problems. I'm sorry but YES. People need to think about others' feelings. This person isn't going to tell it all, and I don't blame her. And at the other end of the spectrum, if she is using the system, there is nothing we can do about it IMMEDIATELY. but like you said, we can vote and try to make things different.

In the mean time, we don't know the truth here and it was just a question she asked. She was not involved in a presidential debate. Cut her some slack, that's all.

Maybe it's me, but the more you know about someone's situation, THE MORE INVOLVED YOU BECOME IN A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. Kinda like gossip at work. Too much info!!! I leave the room before it even get's started. That way I am in no way involved....And no one can say, "Well YOU said......." People misconstrue WAY too much today to get to deep into people's affairs. Keep it simple, answer it as basic as you can and move on.....Much safer that way;)

I have no idea what logic you had tried to imply there but it did not come across clearly. It seems like the Y'ALLS are in majority. If I need to go to DSS to make sure I am not getting screwed then guess where I will be!! I am going to want to know it all. Especially when I am flipping the bill. God forbid I see you getting Medicaid driving a Lexus with 22's, nicer clothes than mine, etc. I am not bashful. I will walk right up into a DSS office and ask how it is possible. I will call you to before I go and give you my address and what time I will be there. When you are on my dime everything you do IS my bidness (business for the Intellectuals). I will snitch!!

Is it me or do you just not get it?? Jennifer was originally questioning why she was getting aid while she is chatting it up on a message board. USING Internet access. Anything else you comment on this has absolutely no merit!! NONE!!!

Slack?? Cut her some slack for eating off my tax dollars while being at home chatting on a message board? Can you really honestly feel that way??

I am sorry but for some reason you are just not conceptualizing the topic. You are defending someone for speaking on a message board while receiving tax payers dollars to eat with. I don't need to know more. That tells me enough about her character.

Actually I think that is a great idea, if we all were a little more sensitive and empathetic the world would be a better place.

I don't know the individuals personal situation, but the particular individual might not know any better, we still get people getting suckered in to Nigerian Money schemes every day.

    Kookookacho, are you a lesbian?

    Just asking a question.
