Please, ladies and gentlemen...we are talking about The Great and Powerful Oz here. She is the self-appointed moral and ethical standard bearer among us. She alone can dictate what is right and what is wrong. Jennifer has been given power from God Almighty to judge those she knows nothing about, and given a Heavenly mandate to stick her nose in whoever’s business she deems necessary. You were not being a witch Jennifer. You were just being the nosy, self-righteous busybody that you've always been...

P.S. Fire up the laptop, baby...it's almost time ;)

LOL! Not in the least. If Jennifer's memory hasn't faded, she'll know what I'm talking about!

I disagree. Taxpayers are paying for those foodstamps. Taxpayers have a right to know that those funds are going to assist someone who needs them as a last resort...not as a buffer so he/she can keep the luxuries in his/her life.

Being supported by the government isn't supposed to be "comfortable." It's supposed to be rather uncomfortable, and the stigma attached needs to be there. Otherwise, people would have no incentive to get off taxpayer assistance.

$21 a week for food, these people are living high on the hog! They should be ashamed.

Granted, I make few appearances here, but this one was too good to pass up. Jennifer asking if she is being a witch? How could I resist? I'll wash the crud off shortly and pretend I was never here...

Serversnapper, you are not even trying to see my point. Actually look at it from my angle just for a minute. I know it may be a stretch for ya, but....try anyway.

Everytime someone asks a question about some type of welfare benefit does NOT make it ok for everyone to jump on the wagon and question motives and financial backgrounds. When people ask for advice or opinions on a message board, they are NOT "required" to give their life story, financial history, medical history, motives, reasons as to why they are asking. Who is anybody on here that they MUST know? AGAIN....answer the QUESTION and leave the rest alone...........You wanna change things and make sure you tax dollars are not abused? That's why we have the wonderful opportunity to V-O-T-E. That's how things are fixed. Not by interrogation.

Man we need to just send out a "TREE HUGGER" alert on you. That is the biggest crock of BS I have ever heard. It is absolutely MORONIC to post on a board you are receiving food stamps on a bulletin board. Then to ask WHO can I contact since I am late in receiving them. The person here not looking at others points of view is not big daddy. I am not commenting on this anymore because I think my point and Jennifers point out weighs yours TEN fold. Get your mind out of that LEFTIST gutter. It is NOT OK to WASTE my tax dollars on INTERNET access while one sits at home on her tush not working. I see McDonald's and Wendy's openings all the time stuck on the Windows. Forget foolish pride and get a job. Public assistance are for people who REALLY need it.

Jennifer, I don't think you were wrong at all. I agree with you. In fact I would consider both the internet access & the computer to be luxury's. The pawn shop may not pay much for a computer - but I'm guessing if the money were spent wisely, the money from a pawned computer could feed the family for a few days (at least until her welfare money came in). But like others have said - it is possible she is using someone else's computer and internet access.

That is very possible Hugh. But where is the logic in posting it on a message board? She evidently has a phone. Why not call her rep??

Don't forget the "right wing gutter crawlers" support the erosion of our civil rights to allow the government to "monitor" us more closely and secretly than the Constitution allows ..... ;)

Wayne maybe the that needs an upgrade so we can get these sponges off the teet of Old Glory.

One can assume someone is a sponge if one wishes to do so. I can assume you are a sponge because I probably pay more in taxes than you, but that does not make it any more truthful than your position. Those protections in the Bill of Rights are so outdated now ... who needs warrents for searches or even to know what evidence is being presented against you? ;)

We can always assume it is better than it actually is since we passed 1984 before we started giving it all away for false security.

Pardon me, BUT YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT SHE WAS WASTING ANYTHING........She may have been at a friends house or the library. You have no idea from her question that she is not actively looking for work. Actually you ASSUME a whole lot, don't you? Just because she was on the net asking a question about food stamps does not mean she is abusing tax dollars and sitting on her tush doing nothing. I really would like to know how you came to the conclusion that she was.

I am a republican by the way. However that has nothing to do with it. Your leftist remark was a very STUPID comment.

I just don't feel like you need to give people the 3rd degree about a question they ask....Why do you NOT get that????

And may I enlighten you that there ARE people out there that do legitimately receive and need food stamps.

I am a very sensitive and very empathetic person;and for the most part I don't go off the deep end. (that time of the month makes me a bit edgy - hide guns  ) None the less, I ain't going to sugar coat stuff for anyone. My family, my friends, or even perfect strangers. It's not called being mean or rude it's called being honest. It's just the best I got.

next - I have to fall on my face to learn from my mistakes and those people getting suckered from Nigerians welp... natural selection and survival of the fittest is the best answer to this. I can't save the world but one person at a time and if you don't listen well then that's your own fault, is my way of looking at it.

Am I a lesbian... possibly in a former life.

    Just answering your questions
